I dont personally find the talk about offensive but I think I understand the complaint, people get an allotted amount of bombcast per week and they feel that time is being encroached upon by these personalities they enjoy talking about something they're not interested in. They would most likely prefer those personalities talk about something they can empathise with. People are a little aggressive about it though.

I'm sorry, but it's just people being dicks. They talked at most 10 minutes about a game one of them is excited about on a podcast that usually is >3 hours ... complaining about that is just being an ass on the internet. I don't care about dota at all, but I still enjoy them talking about games they enjoyed.

If no one makes a flash animation out of 7:20-8:40, there is no justice in this world.

I, for one, welcome all the Dota 2 talk you guys can dish out. Daily Dota is like, the most listenable stream on the site while I'm at work.

Haha yeah, me too. If I'm not in the mood to hear them talk about DOTA for 20 minutes, I just skip over it, no big deal. The Bombcast is usually so long that it takes me days to get through anyway so I actually appreciate getting to skip some of it and feel good about it. But some of the reactions to the DOTA talk are just hilarious.

Hey everbody it's teusday!!!! Your weekly dota 2, I mean video game podcast.

Honestly, I could care less about Dota 2, but the podcast talk of it hasn't bothered me in the slightest. It's a 3 hour podcast, so if I really don't care I can just skip ahead and still have all the bombcast I can listen to.

FFXIV doesn't really start to take off until after level 10. The start is very basic, a lot of fetch quests and kill x number of enemies with your starting class. Not that it ever becomes a revolutionary MMO, but it doesn't feel exactly like every other MMO at that point.

Knowing what I know about Brad I can't imagine he'll fall in love with the game, but as someone who has still enjoyed Final Fantasy to some extent but never loved it (and never cared much for MMOs either) I've enjoyed my time with it so far.

Also, of course Vinny likes 9. That's why Vinny is great.

I love hearing people talk about Dota because it means I don't have to play Dota. I played me some Dota back in the day, too, before the days of HoN and LoL. 12 hour marathons with friends.

I don't anymore because its time commitment is titanic. Mechanically and on paper, Dota is a perfect game... after the learning curve, which is over 60 hours long before you really get into the depth of the game, and because a game can get lost in the first 20 minutes of play, yet go on for an hour until it's complete, especially with the stigma of being a leaver.

But yeah, Dota's one of those games that can't really be played without making some hilariously sad sacrifices.

@loktarogar: I ran a weekly 2 hoursish (sometimes longer) podcast about dota back in the d1 days, and regularly filled an hour weekly on a different one. Dota never ends.

@loktarogar: haven't listened yet, but Jeff has said on his tumblr that he'll keep putting DOTA in the podcast description if there's even the slightest mention of it just to piss people off.

I love that people get pissed off about Dota 2 yet they don't even talk talk about it this week.

@2headedninja: I don't hate Dota 2 talk but I am a little tired of it. I understand why some people like it but Brad has been talking about this game for ages. It's been going on since about a month or two before my spring semester in college ended until now when my fall semester has started. That's a lot of talking about the same game. In the end I can just space out during the Dota talk so it's not really a huge issue. What's funny to me is just how awful Brad still is at that game and the only enjoyment I've gotten out of the daily Dota is when his teammates "yell" at him for sucking.

Sad to hear about Brad's first experiences with FFXIV. As someone who loved FFXI, yes, SE's account stuff is super stupid, and it used to be even more stupid. There was a brief time where you couldn't even pay for an account without a "verified" credit card, which caused great amounts of people to be unable to play at all.

That said, I think FFXIV has the potential to be pretty great. I know MMO's are the antithesis of how their jobs work, but I do hope Brad does try to get into it. I think it deserves a little bit of attention at least.

I can't wait for VinCo. bathrooms.

This sort of comment is tragic really. I don't play Dota 2, but this is a podcast about some duders and what they've been playing, and life in general. That's it. What, you think you are such a big influence in their lives that they care about what you think or do or want? The humour and greatness of the Bombcast comes from them being their natural selves. I live in England, so I miss lots of cultural references specific to the US, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. If anything, I find it a fascinating insight into a (slightly) different place. Also, as others have said, we are talking about a relatively small section in a pretty big podcast! Wise up, chill out, and be cool man. Life is too short.

@jeff Dragoons are in Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, They are called Lancers though. Edit: Actually Dragoons are a specialization for the Lancer class.

It would be nice if the podcast had those timestamp things, or whatever you call them, so I can skip to the section that interests me.
