Everything comes in hot when you launch a console, especially when you target a late 2014 release and Sony surprises you hard when you haven't even started thinking about adding more languages to speech detection. I lost my ears in a fight with a saber-wielding platypus this past weekend and consequently am incapable of listening to this episode. If I may be so bold as to inquire, what did the GTAV talk consist of?

A proper "Hey everybody, it's Tuesday!" intro made me happy.

I want to know this as well, I'm waiting for later tonight to listen to it. I'm curious if they already have a copy, they would have to get one this week if the embargo is the Friday before release like GTAIV's was.

There's a reason the Bombcast NeoGAF thread has a "Vinny Check".

The problem is that they mocked the people who came out and said they were offended by the joke. If they had just apologized when they were confronted everyone would have moved on, but instead they made fun of people, who in a lot of cases are victims of sexual abuse. A joke is offensive when it offends someone. That doesn't mean don't make jokes, but try and understand where other people are coming from.

@jeffgoldblum: If comedians had to apologize to every single person that ever felt offended by something they said, they wouldn't have time for anything else. People need to get over themselves.

Fun fact: the tomato-based clam chowder was actually pioneered by Portuguese immigrants. The Manhattan Clam Chowder distinction comes from stupid arrogant piece of shit New Englanders snidely claiming that only people from Manhattan could like something like that!

And again, the problem is not that they didn't apologize good enough or even that they made a borderline tasteless rape joke. The problem is that their response to people taking offense has been, more often than not, to be hugely arrogant about it and double-down on being assholes, seemingly for no other reason than to stick it to those evil sexual assault survivors who were offended by them glibly joking about rape and then selling merchandise specifically to profit off a rape joke.

I'm really enjoying Drew's insights, and it sounds like he's getting to fill some more journalistic roles at events, so I would love to see Giant Bomb maybe hire another video producer and let Drew move into more of an on-screen role, especially considering that traditional written reviews and the prerequisite writing skills are playing less of crucial role.

Yes, and isn't one of the major themes of PAX is to be inclusionary and to make people feel comfortable? This is in direct opposition of that, the sole purpose of the Dickwolves merch was to spit in the face of those offended, inciting an animalistic crowd to cheer for such shit is only going to make people more uncomfortable to be there.

If you look back you may notice that Ryan was the one who reviewed all of the GTA IV DLC.

Had an original PS3. Decided to dust around the house, and accidentally turned it on due to capacitive buttons. I left for work and eight hours later I came back to my room, PS3 fan going like a motherfucker, and the room had to be almost 30 degrees Celsius from all the heat the PS3 generated. So I prefer actual buttons now. Won't really turn me against the system, dumb mistake on my part, but something to consider.

Jeff got a bit defensive about his preference of XBox exclusives over PS3. We've known your guys' alignment for a long time. Makes me wonder who he's really trying to convince.

I think you're reading into it a little too much... and he's not trying to convince anyone.

It's only launch, we don't even know what half of the other big developers are doing yet. We don't even know half of what is coming out in 2014 for the new consoles let alone lineups for the next 5 years. The really great games for new consoles start coming out the 2nd year of the cycle, because developers get a grasp of the tools, have more of an understanding of what can be done and what is next evolution of game play.

And also no you're probably not the only one. Starting a question "am I the only one" on GB or any other website, will net you tons of sarcastic responses. It's kind of an annoying way to start a question when posting a question on the internet. Just ask something like "does anyone not feel great about these next consoles?"

Standing Desk sounds good, but I have no problem staying active at the computer desk, its the comfy couch thats a bitch on energy levels. So I stand up to game on the console.

Was looking forward to this particular bombcast regarding PAX to hear what the guys are looking forward too regarding the games showed there.

By the way, I didn't get exactly from Drew if he is working on the panel video from Pax. We only have to wait for that until he finishes right?

Forget dickwolves, it was a joke and if you were offended by it you're wrong, period. The reason to hate Mike is his waffling on the transgender issue.

He said something dumb*, apologized for it and vowed to educate himself, then two weeks later said something dumb again and apologized again and donated money to some charity.

I don't give a shit what you believe in, especially if you're not hurting anyone, but have some conviction and don't hand out platitudes. If you say you're going to educate yourself, do it and don't apologize further if it doesn't change your mind.
