I took a break from playing Borderlands 2 for a couple days after Tiny Tina. Totally unfunny, super annoying. I know humor is subjective, but if you like tiny Tiny Tina and think she's funny, my subjective opinion is that you are human garbage.

The fleet names are pretty funny too, the Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity and the Third Fleet of Glorious Consequence, how can you not love/hate those?

Yep I have to agree here.....................

At the very least they help give a sense of a change in cultural norms, which you would expect for a story set hundreds of years from now. I always thought they were a nice touch, providing just enough dissonance from what you'd expect but also totally working in a weird sort of way.

Not really. UNSC names on that list in particular still have the very "traditional" naming schemes of sites of Battles or what not such as Agincourt, Trafalgar, and Thermopylae. But then you get stuff like Tokyo Rules and Do You Fell Lucky which just leaves me going "what the fuck?"

True.

The ones I was thinking of specifically (and actually the only ones I remember from the games) were In Amber Clad and Truth and Reconciliation. Most of the time I spent playing Halo 3 I had no idea what was going on (never played 2's campaign), so having those weird names being tossed around constantly just sort of felt appropriate.

Was 'Do You Feel Lucky' in the actual games, or is that just something that popped up in a codex or novel somewhere?

While I wasn't disgustingly off-put by her yeah I don't think I actually found anything she did or said to be funny. Which is odd as I've laughed at a number of Ashley Burch's Hey Ash episodes where shes more or less playing a similar character. I guess with the way Borderlands pushes everything up to 11 and it being so constant because its a quest chain in a rather tedious part of the game it understandably infuriates some people.

@MarkWahlberg: Wikipedia suggests that it's from a book. I'm just basing my reactions to the names off the list given.  Haven't played Halo 2 or 3.

I believe that specific ship is referenced in The Cole Protocol book, but that thing really does sound like one of Bungie's mid-game chapter titles doesn't it? I really can't remember if I've seen it in one of the games before.

@Fattony12000: Everything but the assets and rendering was pretty good, with a few exceptions. But their games looked poor, and even more importantly, ran poorly. The AI was always fuckin' incredible, the scale got pretty awesome, and there were plenty of things to like about the Halo engines, but they were never that incredible, except maybe with Halo 2. There was a lot of cool tech, but it was rarely in the visuals, and over all, they never stunned anyone in terms of fidelity of visuals. And Reach was a hot fucking mess with the framerate in singleplayer campaign. Try playing coop on the very first level of Reach and you'll see the lowest framerate you've ever seen on even a console title, I'm almost sure of it.

Halo 4 just looks so goddamn sharp, so clearly they had a lot more room they could have filled up, but focused instead on other things, which is ok.

Now, I'm not trying to say any or all of the Halo games were masterpieces in visual fidelity across the board. I always appreciated what I saw in both and single and multiplayer over all of the games. Yes, Halo CE on split screen co-op gets pretty rough, but I never had any of those issues with Reach from what I can remember, and me and my girlfriend went all the way through all of the Halo games when Reach came out. I always liked the amount of stuff happening over such huge areas of the battlefield in singleplayer, and considering the hundreds upon hundreds of online and offline multiplayer that I've played, I've always thought the engine was pretty solid.

Yes, I know you could do some pretty funny/rotten stuff in Halo 2 multiplayer, due to weird engine/physics manipulation, but if you're playing a straight up 16-player BTB with 2 wraiths, 2 banshees, 4 ghosts, rockets and grenades and flags poppin off everywhere, most of the time shit was locked down tight.

I won't complain about things looking better in the future, though!
