That's just triggered my personal obsessive compulsive version of when a nerd gets annoyed at an incorrect statement like: "Frodo, The force will with you, allways!" said by Captain Picard.

The DS4 is a HID device. It'll work on anything accepting that (I believe) Class Compliant method, which is on a per-game basis even on the PS3. Dark Souls PS3? Plug an arcade stick in, it'll work.

(My launch PS1 with RCA outs is my CD player. Cutting out the CD laser = less electronics and hardware that can break, the drive will definitely read BRs and DVDs longer)

Hey, did you know that in the sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones is attacked by a guy with a sword and a turban AGAIN? Lazy bums.

Being self-referential is fairly frequent in franchises. I imagine in this case, since they're basically rebooting the continuity, they probably went out of their way throwing in some recognizable stuff to guarantee that this is still a CoD campaign, even if all the characters are gone. That easter egg texture about Shepherd is probably the same kind of thing.
