Oh man, this guy was giving @patrickklepek NOTHING to work with. Should have just started asking esoteric questions about stuff like the lack of Waluigi in games and when can we expect the Nintendo Phone.

Nintendo really need to get their shit together. Got games I want but not really pushing many. Nintendo Direct is not enough.

This interview may be the greatest example of PR saying loads but at the same time saying nothing.

Just a bewildering amount of empty words from this man. Pretty disappointing. Still, the Wii Fit Trainer is in a Smash Bros. game, so Nintendo's still alright by me.

See, I don't see this as a dude being a good PR guy at all: HE'S SO DRY AND ROBOTIC. At least spice it up a bit so that your interviewer doesn't get exasperated and you don't come across as a clueless message-delivery automaton.

I mean, I get that you probably have to answer a lot of the same questions during something like E3, but it's called Public Relations. Try relating to the public, maybe? It's right there in the name!

EDIT: Okay, the possible loophole is that his title is "communications director".

He just told us that see through warp pipes is a dynamic gameplay feature.

When I have a kid, the first console they will play on is a Nintendo. But why should I buy a Nintendo console when I can easily get a 3DS that will allow me to scratch that Nintendo itch for less cost?

If it wasn't for the great 3DS I would probably stop acknowledging Nintendo's existence completely.

This just makes me appreciate Reggie and guys like him even more. Being able to stay on message and hit the talking points but not make it totally robotic and sound even kinda natural. Sure there is some BS in those statements but at least it sounds better.

This guy should not be speaking to a games outlet. He talks about increasing the install base and how important it is to motivate people to buy, but has no compelling stories to tell. He may be OK for an earnings call...

"We know we need to sell more systems, thats what important."

What do you have that will make people want to buy your systems?

NOA has too many executives that probably never played a game until they were hired. Nintendo of America is worst Nintendo.

You know you're bad at your job when you make Dennis Dyack sound like a pro at doing interviews. They definitely need to do some work on their PR. I think Nintendo needs to move in a less Reggie led direction. His blue-ocean strategy is drowning the company.

This is like what it would be to interview one of the E3 press conferences. So stiff. Yikes.

This is completely random, but, I just wanted to say that you're doing amazing work with these interviews, Patrick, even if you don't always get the answers, you always ask the questions. Keep being awesome.

Some of that is biased because I really hate the Zero Suit in general, some of that just why would you model it after Other M? D:

Nintendo could at least be a little more transparent when it comes to things like virtual console or anything really. To be fair this isn't aimed at Charlie but the company as a whole. Every year there is a new Nintendo interview and every time you get a whole lot of nothing. Never the less appreciate the interview Patrick and trying to get us some answers.

This is almost a polar opposite of the Sony interview. Jesus christ.

I could see Nintendo skipping Metroid all together this gen.

Because it's the most recent incarnation of Samus, and the design of the suit itself in the game is quite good, regardless of your opinion on the game as a whole.

EDIT: I should clarify that this is pretty much the standard approach for character designs used in the series. In Melee, the versions of Link and Zelda used were from Ocarina of Time. In Brawl, their designs were from Twilight Princess; even Sheik's design was modified to reflect what a Twilight Princess Sheik would look like. In this new game, Link's appearance reflects Skyward Sword, and if Zelda reappears, I imagine that her design would also reflect her Skyward Sword look.

This guy is the worst. I'm glad Patrick put it up and I'm glad he titled it the way he did because it lets us see what often leads to someone just throwing the whole thing out. I get not wanted to talk about specific things, but this guy just came across as lifeless, which is the opposite I'd think you'd want someone representing Nintendo to feel like.

Compared to Sony's Q and A, Nintendo's seems to be run by PR robots.
