I don't get why they didn't time accelerate to get to a point where Kerbin is closest to MunShot, it looks like the orbits overlap at some point.

Orbits overlaping doesnt mean they will be at the same place in the orbits, time accelerating until they are could very well mean centuries. It is ofc. very possible to time accelerate centuries in Kerbal space program but it seems very gamey to me.

Man I love this series...feel bad for anyone who is either a) knowledgeable in this field or b) has played a bunch of Kerbal. I can see why it could be frustrating but man when you don't know whether they are on the right path or destined to be doomed then this is extremely compelling viewing!

Also I love how Alex is the voice of reason or at least the voice of hey lets make sure we know what we're doing here

At a certain point you have to ask yourself: am I actaully seeking this out to enjoy it, or am I addicted to the rage-boner?

Cause at THIS point in the series, if you haven't caught on to what the series is largely going to be? That's on YOU.

I still have to wonder why the Kerbal government keeps funding the BEAST project, considering both the cost of space vessels and the mounting death toll.

@ehbunner Fitting in with both a and b to some extent i dont see any problem with enjoying this. I get a slightly different view on the technical stuff however and even if it doesnt look like it Vinny really is the voice of reason in this series. It may not seem like it when he kills 6 Kerbals in one episode but he kinda got the hang of the physics. Alex and Austins suggestions are more based on fear of space rather than any sort of logic.

There is a difference between learning the lessons of orbital mechanics 'the hard way' and messing around with neat-looking parts. While both are fun, this episode felt like it had a little too much of the latter.

The "ignore the haters" comments are missing the point of what people are finding frustrating here. I'm not expecting Scott Manley gameplay (I kinda find his stuff boring) but the BEAST crew have the potential to do some really amazing crazy stuff if they get the basics down.

Don't you want to see them trying to put together a ridiculous space station or some deep space mining mission rather than attempt 27 at matching orbits?

@zelnar: I really don't get this mentality. If you find something frustrating it's quite easy to stop watching it. However you want it to be over so even the people that are enjoying it can't continue to enjoy it. That makes no sense to me.

@jerk: I get where you're coming from, and overall (as I stated) I love what they're doing and want them to succeed. It's just incredibly frustrating when they continue to not grasp some of the basic mechanics and keep throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. The description even says "a return to our roots of throwing Kerbals at problems" - that's not really a good way to approach the game - you shouldn't be regressing. KSP is a relatively technical game, with some amount of leeway (seriously they are waaaay too cautious with flying Kerbals over to another ship), but overall the core mechanics, being used accurately/effectively, makes the game significantly more engaging both to watch and to play. I said I look forward to the series being done simply because they're just not really learning anything anymore like they did in the first handful of episodes. I think if they had a better grasp, and were clearly progressing, an ongoing series exploring the rest of the Solar System would actually be a real treat. But if it's just 90 minutes of blowing up rockets I just don't find it to be particularly fun.

Sorry, guess I went on a bit of a rant. TL;DR - The game is more fun for both viewer and player when the player grasps more and more mechanics and continues to make progress, rather than just failing in different ways until something works.

They should probably add a "self-destruct" phase to their ship design so that they don't end up with dozens of Kerbals orbiting the sun.

This series is incredible. These comments don't deserve you, GBeast.
