I pre ordered MGSV on steam today. Today is a good day.

Man, I just can't believe that Dan STILL doesn't get Raiden's character at all. Every time he goes on his little "Raiden was such a lame wiener, so they made him a badass in MGS4" makes me cringe. He's literally made superficially badass by design, as right after that one scene of him being cool, he basically spends the entire game crying and whining in bed, while in MGS2 he's openly confrontation, investigative, and demanding about things. Yet apparently doing 3 minutes of anime sword fighting makes him the coolest badass according to Dan.

BTW, the reason the turret sequence went on for so long is because Drew kept shooting the Gekko's legs, which does the least amount of damage and is mostly for just shooting tranqs into in order to KO them, or tripping them up with explosives for follow-up kill shots. You wanna shoot into their robot part, specifically the little dome computer on top, to do the most damage.

I decided to go back and play, for the third time, MGS4 to follow along with Metal Gear Scanlon. During a part in this episode I killed a guard who was pleasuring himself to a Playboy. Man this is a great game!

Guys, Naomi wasn't wearing a bra and that was the wrong path. It's a red herring.

Trying to do this turret section (and the next one, fuck me) without killing anyone was not fun. One stray bullet and you're fucked, do it all over if you didn't save. I spent quite a bit of Drebin Points on V-ring ammo just to blast those fuckers off the APC, as it's too hard to land a tranq headshot fast enough.

Also how the hell has Drew not gotten the "You enjoy all the killing, don't you?" scene by now? He's quite literally shot every single enemy he's seen.

I don't think these episode lengths are gonna get them through MGS 4 by the time V comes out.

That was a long five-day wait.

Have they given a reason for why these are occasionally so short in length?

Wow, 49 minutes? Maybe they're trying to keep the average down, once those 2-hour episodes hit.

@serrata: No i really doubt they will be able to finish the game in 8 episodes, particularly with the hour long length they are releasing them at. Maybe if they add Friday to the release schedule they would come close.

To get that little Easter egg you need to kill about ten-twenty guys in pretty quick succession.

I got super spoiled with the long MGS3 episodes and now they are getting shorter and shorter. Is it going to end at endurance run lengths where some of the Persona 4 episodes are like 14 minutes long? I know I know Mr. Entitled or something.

Something worth keeping in mind. Music can be a powerful tool, Snake.

That got me thinking with Vinny on the east coast it would be hilarious to see Dan be the copilot of a persona 5 endurance run.

Yeah, I remember this section kind of sucking. Liked Act 2 up until you beat Laughing Octopus.

Luckily, this is just a temporary lull!

I have such a Pavlovian response to capacitor whine whenever nightvision is used, makes me think of slittin' throats and killin' fools. And Splinter Cell (of blessed memory. Rest in Peace Michael Ironsides's Sam Fisher).

I'd pay Kojima to make a spiritual successor to RE4, in addition to taking a crack at Silent Hill (while I'm wishing for things).

There's hope for all of us wieners out there.

Tea is really tasty. The face camo is fun once you get custom stuff you can equip with it, I didn't mind having it equipped because I thought he looked like Snake Eyes from GI Joe. While I think the metal gear MK.2 is fun to use, it doesn't tell you the controls on the item screen (but I think it's a face button). But if you really don't want to use it, unequipp it because it just adds to your weight.

Please don't waste a "Film & 40s" on either Ace Ventura movies.

Dan has said Montana sucks on multiple videos but I am once again going to defend it.

1. Handkerchiefs are handy for farmers and people who are outdoors (hunters, fishermen/women, state employees) as a huge ass roll of toilet paper or tissues isn't something you can carry. You don't consistently blow your nose in them, but if you need them they are there. Handkerchiefs are usually 24" and you can blow your nose a lot in them. When you get home you wash them. If you think it's gross to reuse them, you drink alcohol and eat taco bell. I'm sure your underwear has seen worse. lol.

2. People don't go shoot prairie dogs or gophers JUST for fun. Ranchers own cattle. Prairie dogs dig holes in the ground. If a cow, that could potentially be worth a lot of money steps in that hole and breaks it's leg, then the farmer loses money. So farmers will give people ammunition to go out onto their land and shoot prairie dogs, gophers, jefferson ground squirrels to protect their investment. It's not stupid to shoot them. It's necessary.

I'm not trying to be an ass by stating these two things, so please don't take it as me trying to be high and mighty on redneck lore. I just live in a state where he questions a lot of things, that actually make sense in the state I live in. Good work and love the series!

Boo, one small bit of gameplay away from the last cutscene of the act.

Okay, they're finally past the point where I stopped playing. I played up to that turret sequence and was just so burnt out on metal gear at that point (having played through 1-3 immediately prior) that I just put the game down and never ended up getting back to it. Glad that I can finally know what happens in this one!
