I've heard about cases of... i guess you'd call it "extreme internal poop storage", and it worries me because i regularly don't... "release" it for at least a week, it's never been a problem so far, changing my diet helps but i'm already a varied eater, fruit, veg, meats, dairy, i just eat a load of biscuits when i'm anxious about it.

Drew, I have a hypothesis as to why the taste of the beer changed after smelling the Gak. If the beer and the Gak smelled similar, there were probably overlapping chemicals that you could smell. Smelling the Gak- especially sniffing a lot of it like you did- would have partially desensitized you to the relevant chemicals that smell like Gak. Smell and taste are closely intertwined. So then, when you tasted the beer right afterwards, the Gak-y taste was diminished, and the remaining flavors tasted relatively stronger.

I could be totally off, as I don't know much about how taste and smell overlap. I'm also not an expert. Buuuut I bet that's something like what happened!

I was only half-listening to the intro. portion of this. When you miss the context, some of it sounds real weird:

I had the same as Paul as a kid. Well except for coughing feeling like knives, i just had bellyaches. For me it took like 6 months until i recovered. Had 3 different medicine and multiple enema's with water and salty stuff (which hurts a fuckton). To hear his doctor just advise him to eat more fiber seems pretty light to me.

Oh hell yes, Sundowner's theme is probably my favorite in the entire game (even if the lyrics aren't all that great):

Shame they couldn't trigger the phase 2 against Sundowner. They even figured out how to cut the shields too.

Holy crap! (Literally) If Papa Rykert doesn't want to end up like Elvis, dead on the toilet (straining too hard, because his colon was impacted), he needs to clean it up.

I mean he did better than I was expecting against Sundowner and broke his guard more often than not, but I can't imagine anyone didn't see the underwhelming version of that fight coming from the beginning of the playthrough. Sundowner has so little health and you do so much damage that it's easy to just kill him before cutting the shields away if you aren't looking to specifically do that. C'est la vie.

FUCK, that's one hell of an opening Dan. I'm glad you think Giant Bomb and Drew are the place to share your father's extreme constipation stories. They should give him that stuff you have to take to poop for colonoscopies. Mix that with Pedialyte+Cherry 7up+Cherry energy MIO and it tastes rather amazing. Anyways, back to the fact that you like a beer that tastes like sausages. What an odd flavor.

@cikame: I'd say so long as you aren't having a hard time with evacuation, when things do cycle through, then you'd probably be fine (not a doctor, and all that). As far as whether that's a thing. I can confirm.

My son is Autistic and one symptom that can emerge is that the body isn't particularly great at communicating its needs. Or at least not well enough to distract from other activities the mind is otherwise paying attention to.

So instead of just "going when needed", you really have to establish a routine of trips. The body gets in the habit of just fitting that schedule. This is unfortunately, not as simple as it sounds, and as a result my son occasionally suffers from severe constipation to the point where we often have to cycle him on and off OTC meds to treat.

Something tells me the phrase "do not get this on my couch" is something Dan has heard tens of thousands of time during his life.

I never understood what you were meant to do with Gak. I got some as a kid, and it immediately got a bunch of dust stuck to it, and that was the end of that.

I've seen a lot of people get confused by the Sundowner fight. It's annoying because fumbling your way through that fight through it doesn't trigger the lyrics in the boss track.
