2 things are clear:

1) Dan was never good at Altered Beast and is arguably getting worse as the series goes on.

2) This is the worst game ever long-form covered by Giantbomb. Congrats Kingdom Hearts!

@cheesus Same here. On both HTML5 and Progressive. Internet is great, computer's running fine, most videos are as they should be, but getting an infinite loading hang up around 11:10/11:11.

I'm going to have to stop watching this series at work because I can barely keep myself from screaming at my computer monitor every time Vinny lets Dan get the power ups first.

I was not into this one at first because the game sucks but I'm really starting to love watching Vinny lose his mind on a semi-weekly basis

I don't love that they fail, but I do love that it's always Dan's fault.

They seem to have a misconception that the level loops if they don't get to full power at the first boss opportunity. What actually happens is that the level continues, with different geometry and different enemy patterns! Things get tougher and more devious the further you go in each level. There are more troll wolf spawns where the brown one will come out on one level and the white one goes somewhere else. It's way easier to deal with with two people though.

It wasn't all Dan's fault! I don't think there's a reason to go on the upper pillars on the last level. If both are on the ground there will be more chances to get the balls.

It's hard to remember, with everything else happening, whether the wolves are going up or down, and the direction from which they're coming.

Why do they keep giving Dan first dibs on the orbs on the final level? He always comes in with less lives than Vinny, and thus when he loses all those lives it renders everything pointless. Vinny should be getting the orbs first because it gives them the best chance of ending the game with a victory even if Dan dies. Seems like a simple strategy to implement.
