Seems fairly neat and true to the show. Bit repetitive but visually it hits all the right notes.

I just started watching this show. It's like a childish, nonsensical, carefree stream of consciousness.

This game is too rigid to be particularly representative of that. It's more of a regular ass adventure game with those characters in it. The Costume Quest comparison seems apt.

Seems unfortunately bunk on a technical level. Both the bugginess and the Half-Life 2 zone-loading.

Looking at the IMDB, there's been some people in this show throughout the years.

@mattchops I'd say the same for this game as i would the recent Steven Universe or OK K.O. games. They're mediocre games on their own if you don't know the source material. But they rise to the level of decent/good if you like the shows in question because it's clear the people working on them love it to so that attention to detail is there.

Oh man... this game looks pretty half-baked, but it looks just good enough that I still want to play it. I mean, I like Adventure Time enough to have even squeezed some fun out of that weird Diablo-clone game, so I'll probably enjoy this well enough too.

Aside: I still get the Ice King song from the first Adventure Time game stuck in my head, despite not having heard it since 2012.

Gonna date myself here, but their boat "Jeff" remind me of the Persephone :)

Just picked this up! I love the show and am happy to see it get at least an okay game. I also played a bunch of the Finn & Jake Investigations game on PS4 and that was okay too.

Weird that there was no music at all for that boss fight.

Began to watch Adventure Time a couple of months ago, been enjoying it a lot! That said, this doesn't really look that appealing to me. I don't even know what I'd want from a licensed game, unless you can make it a really solid platformer.

The game looks okay, though, which seems to be the case with most Adventure Time games. Tonally and visually it hits the mark but the gameplay leaves something to be desired and technically it's rough around the edges. it's really too bad because the show is such a goofy, fun thing and the games often fall too squarely into one single genre.

I'd love to see an adventure time city builder, or something akin to Animal Crossing. Just a way to spend time in that world and soak up the atmosphere, rather than being beholden to specific cliches of whichever genre they choose to dabble in.

Adventure Time really goes to some dark places...and holds up remarkably well.

Varmints and a lot of references are from later in the series, this game looks ok but you would probably have more fun just catching up on the show. Jake isn't married, they play on this later when finn forgets that too, misremembering that the only wedding he went to was tree trunk's not jake's.

Fun fact: Judge Dredd and Finn are two of the only characters in long-term fiction to age in relative realtime.

The only way that ending could have been better is if happened right when that BMO character fell over trying to do the high five.

... Or right before the fight was over. Hopefully it auto-saved afterwards. Poor Alex.

Never watched any Adventure Time, but I really enjoyed yall talking about it! Jake's Demonic origin needs to be canon.

I know next to nothing about Adventure Time, but I do really like the look of this game. That battle at the end went on for way too long though.

The game's technical chunkiness is a shame, it seems to be made with love of the series, even though, as @vibratingdonkey mentioned, it seems a bit to rigidly structured to fit with the nonsensical and free-form structure of the show.

I feel like it's a little better than their previous efforts but not by much, I would really like a good Adventure Time game because the show plays a lot on game tropes like dungeons and loot and stuff, I'm sure there's a way to do it and not have it be super janky.

Been meaning to try out the AT card game based on that card battle episode but I never got around to booting it up.

I don't want to be negative, but it's getting a bit tiresome to have Quick Looks from GBEast with the person playing explaining how the game works while the other two are goofing around and not listening to the explanations, which makes them ask things that were already explained while they weren't paying attention. The two person format they used to do works way better in most QLs.

Anyway, it's a shame that this game isn't better. I think the idea of an Open World RPG set in the Adventure Time universe done properly could be really neat.

Is anyone else getting a pretty strong Costume Quest vibe off this? The battle system specifically.
