Quick Look: Afrika

Have not watched it but I can not wait to!

You can tell they were pretty low budget, but this game has some charm.  $50 though, no way.

Something about this game seems compelling. I could be psyched about a sequel. More depth to the actual photography stuff could be cool, and having actual animal-animal interaction to photograph is needed. Like being a able to follow a pack of lions in the car as they chase down gazelle.

If Pokemon Snap 2 ever existed, I would want it to be like this.

I'm gonna get this just to add another relaxing game to my collection. 
Flower was relaxing sure, but it gets boring after many hours of messing around with it, so this might be fun enough to mess around with when I get tired of shooting people or hacking them to pieces

it's a bizarre mix of Jurassic Park, Pokemon Snap and Driving Miss Daisy

I knew as soon as hippos were involved, there would be a Punch Out reference. Vinny and Ryan did not dissapoint.

 Also, they have some pretty intense music for just driving around.

I was hoping for abit more violence from the animals, who knows maybe that'll happen later in the game.
I think part of my annoyance with that game would come from the drive back to camp.

That antenna is rock solid on that jeep, and the camera view while in the car is better than a fracking Steadycam.
 
You do eventually go out at night and camp in a sleeping bag away from base camp.  Later on it gets a little more involved and the stuff you have to shoot is annoyingly specific.  I'd have liked to see this game get a little more polish from Natsume, but it looks like translation was as far as they took it.
 
I'd say that Endless Ocean is actually a better "game" since it allows you to do much more.

gotta say, kinda cool. probably a pick up next summer when it's slow. i do wish there was some control on the driving, or even, as vinny kind of sugested, co-op.

I hope they make Afrika 2. I'd probably buy that for full price. This not so much.
The bombastic John Williams score when you're driving around sounds terribly out of place for a game seemingly at the Flower level of relaxation.

And Ryan's got a point. I played a shitload of Tiger Woods on the Xbox while hungover on Sundays at a friend's pad a few years ago. It hasn't been as fun since it went next gen.
Nowadays I get too hungover to play almost anything.
