Spiders are bad enough, but alien spiders? If we ever encounter them in real life, we're all fucked.

I just wanted to say hey I love you guys. Also, I need more Patrick. Also, I need more of everybody and everything. Also, you're doing great with all the new shows and stuff you're outputting. GB has become a bigger part of my internet-experience than I ever expected. Also, thanks again.

Hey guys, I just wanted you to know that you can aim the web, it's easy. If you check the controls listed within the game, you have two options...right stick will shoot the web in the direction you use it and if you use the X button on the Xbox controller, you can control the web direction by using the left stick. It's easy, just try it out for a few minutes to get the hang of it.

Would like spiders more if the left me alone but if in the apartment they helped with the rent. Hate most bugs more than spiders.

I don't like spiders but I'm OK with them because they catch other bugs. Apparently centipedes do the same thing but I can't deal with them in my house. No sir.

This is not the mash up of the Aliens franchise with Spider-Man that I expected.

After this quick look and seeing a bit of this being played on a Gamespot livestream yesterday, I have no desire to ever play this. The controls look horrendous, like an even worse Little Big Planet.

Spiders are creepy as hell. I can't hold one and I had one crawling up my arm last summer and by reflex I slammed my hand into a wall. It hurt so bad. Just pure reflex when I spotted it.

Finally people start admitting how bad LBP was.

Seriously. I've gone back to LBP and LBP2 a few times and loved so much about them, but the controls are a floaty, frustrating mess, especially the new items in LBP2. People give it a pass because they love the cool stuff Media Molecule creates, the style, and the tools, but give it proper controls and I'd be going back into it far more often.

Man, Brad's tendency to do a little yell/scream when in danger is in full effect in this quick look

I really like the look of the game, especially the spider-thing you're playing as, but the collect-a-ton-of-small-things-for-score gameplay, the lame sound effects and what seems like no good option for aiming the web completely turned me off of it.

Couldn't they just have made it dual joystick, left stick controls the character, right stick controls a targetingt line for the web and the left and right shoulder buttons control jumping and web firing respectively? I dunno maybe there are more moves later that require the other buttons.

I want to watch Brad finish this game...

This looks like a bad cellphone game.

I think Alien Spidy could be much better if there is a targeting reticule. It looks interesting even with the floaty jumping.

You're assuming way too much of the Giantbomb crew. Quicklooks rarely occur with them knowing all the controls or trying to know the controls. Besides, the issue was more about a lack of information about where you are aiming and not aiming itself.

I think they should have had Jeff accompany Brad just so he could do more grimacing, like in the Deadly Creatures quick look. That was hilarious.

I don't mind spiders as long as they are not in the bathroom, bedroom, or anywhere I sit or lay down.

I don't take Patrick's opinion on videogames seriously, ever. I have both the games in my collection and they're pretty good games. Patrick should stick to indie games.

that game was a little broken.... but sometimes i feel like brad is not very good a many games. he was using the same timing every time he jumped over the rolly balls and died, and died, and died.

yeah analog sticks are notoriously imprecise so some sort of active feedback is absolutely required.

The player movement just looks god awful. not tuned, no attempt to make controlling the spidey feel awesome. Kind of meshes with the rest of the level design: haphazard and maybe playtested by 1 dude over a weekend.

Yes, that's completely valid.

If your platformer with floaty air control doesn't control as well as Super Meat Boy, N+, or VVVVVV, your game might as well not exist.

It is fundamentally outclassed and thus pointless.

Well so far you're the only one in the comments who disagrees that LBP controlled horribly. But no, you're right, based on that opinion Patrick shouldn't be allowed to review most games. Good thing we have you here to decide these things.

"happier with any bug other then spiders"??? you realize ants would cause a large problem in that they would march all over ur house. Earwigs are just nasty, centipedes aren't that bad. Bedbugs are the worst, wasps and bee's are self explanatory. I would eat a spider over a cockroach anyday, its certainly cleaner. I am not happy about spiders either but they are not even close to being the "worst" unless they are poisonous.

Well to even things out I'll throw it out there that I liked the way LBP controlled. Now I'll go back to my shame corner for liking a game that doesn't control like every other game.
