This is going to be my first Cod since Modern Warfare 2. I'm glad they double downed on ridiculous sci fi nonsense.

I played multiple rounds of it with some people I know before this recording and didn't like any of them! But thanks anyway!

I still haven't played BO 2. Just went to check and yes, somehow I have it in my steam library. I'm wanting to see the review for Black Ops 3, but I am saving my money for another game.

Not to say I won't get this down the line, if the campaign has merit.

Well shit.. I had preordered this for MP because of the beta and that I found it for $40...

Now I'm just pumped to play the campaign tonight.

EDIT: Shit I don't remember melee being non-one hit kill in the beta, that is great news IMO.

This is making me want to play through a CoD game for the first time since I bought Modern Warfare 2 a year or two ago. Maybe I'll finally grab a used copy of Black Ops 1.

I think actually playing this will be better than watching someone play. I hope.

I'm very much looking forward to some Call of Duty multiplayer.

Will probably play Campaign and Zombies too, but MP is definitely going to be my initial focus. Had a ton of fun with the beta and after skipping Ghosts and only picking up Advanced Warfare when it was on sale, I'm looking forward to getting back to that Day 1 excitement for a CoD game.

Nothing worse than a one shot kill character. Won't be wasting my money on this.

Said "peace out" to this series after MW3, I'm ready to give it another go but I don't know man. Too bad Activision's plan is to beat this series into the ground, and then continue to beat every penny out of it until it dies. I miss the old days, I'm ready for another WWII epic...you know back when they actually had storytelling...too bad that'll never happen. They sure do love their "computer sim" looking mission briefings, so boring.

Okay so at what does COD just become a cross platform Halo with a weak single player component?

THIS game looks so beautiful! People are like completely ignoring how good it looks ... one of the best looking games of this year. Fallout 4 looks like garbage in comparison. Siege is looking alright. This definitely wins the graphics department besides maybe Witcher 3 (but you need reshade to make it better than this!)

Why would you tape those shells to your shoulders? That seems incredibly unsafe/inefficient.

Also, I tapped out on these games back with Modern Warfare 2. Advanced Warfare was different enough for me come back for a little bit, but I have absolutely no interest in another one.

Part of what I liked about AW was the modern design of all the tech, the skeleton suit stuff is a lot more interesting in my opinion. This stuff seems very future-1998 and I kind of think it's all just very ugly.

You're comparing this to a game that isn't out yet that very few people have played?

They should find someone in the crew that likes zombies to review it.

One hit kill knife attacks? You want those back? I hate those damn things. Nothing ruins the fun of CoD more for me than seeing teammates and enemy players just running around mashing the melee button. As for the dismissal of the Zombies mode, I expected it from the GB crew since they never cared for it, but I do like what I've seen of it so far.

Not sure any CoD developer can win though in the grand scheme: They either don't put enough in or, like this one, they apparently put too much in and it is treated like a bad thing. Oh well, off to play it. Well, soon anyway, won't unlock for about ten more minutes over here...

I've usually liked CoD single player campaigns but mmmeeeeeeeeeehhhhh.

I won't play another COD game until we are far enough in the future where You play a cybernetic centaur man with weapons mounted on your sides as you fight a demons made out of a swirling clouds of nanomachines. The less there is thats identifiable the better. I want to fight lizardmen terrorists on top of a airship going 500 miles an hour while I shoot crystals at them... crystals that are coming out of my mind. That's my COD.

Just got my copy on PC which is over 6 DVD's.

That was Jeff Goldblum in the Zombies mode, and he is awesome.

A game set in the future were you have an enhanced body and shoot robots. It sounds like a recipe for awesome. Instead this game looks very dull and generic. Meanwhile Binary Domain and VanQuish were fucking awesome! Really gave a thrill. Amazing a game can make the concept look as dull as this.

There's all kinds of awesome graphics and effects, but unfortunately it's all wrapped up in a game where you just go from point to point, doing what you're told constantly, shooting lumbering enemies and having your screen flash red if you look at them for too long.

I think it's more a matter of having someone from the "professional" world of gaming discuss something you enjoy and offer their informed opinion on it.

By and large I'm pretty sure we all already have formed opinions on our own and aren't necessarily looking for validation from Giant Bomb but rather an interesting second opinion. I know I personally have never used Jeff's or Brad's advice as a buying guide - I just like hearing what they have to say about something I enjoy because it can be eye opening.

No, the norm would be a serial code for steam and MAYBE one DVD worth of data before you have to download the rest.

It's not a stretch to think a linear corridor shooter might be better looking than a massive open world game.

Does that lady's cybernetic augmentation include the ability to perma-drag on that cigar? Because man, she was putting out enough smoke for someone to think that her face was on fire.

Also, apparently future-storms consist of light rains accompanied by deadly bursts of 150 mph wind for two seconds. Then light rains again. Then two seconds of windy deeeaatthhhh. Then a return to light rain. Then the weather is never mentioned again for the rest of the game.

Also, it's a weird design choice to make your character the "durr we have to follow the mission to the letter! I hate independent thinking!"-type. Five minutes into this Quicklook and I was wishing that you played as Hendricks rather than "Player".

Excessive chromatic aberration does not make this look good to me, but can it be turned off?

Didn't seem like much need for wall jumping and parkour in campaign which seems like a waste, and i remember from the beta the maps weren't really designed around it either. Seems like a game built with cool systems without the levels and combat designed around them which is a shame since it seems like pretty cool stuff. Zombie mode has a cool look but man after about 5 minutes it was even boring to watch. I'm not a COD guy at all, played MW2 and hated it but the last 2 games looked interesting and maybe i'll pick up the last game and try it out since it seems way better.

When it comes to multiplayer, this is one of those times when I know the reviewer's particular tastes just don't align with my own, so I sort of don't regard it. I don't mean in a slanderous way. Jeff really liked AW's multiplayer for the reasons I really disliked it, and I think the 'MOBA character' motif of this is quite appealing.
