Bam, if you're looking for the original version of the game for PC, here it is plus a fan translation. On the other hand, do go ahead and buy the Wii version. Pixel and Nicalis put a LOT of love into converting the game over and giving it some touch ups, so please, if you like the original, shelling twelve bucks out isn't a bad deal for a VERY good game that works great with the standard Wiimote configuration.

hey they changed a lot of the text!  hmmmm.  i should buy this.

If I had a wii I would get it, to support the dudes what made it, since I played it on PC and enjoyed it (though never finished it... I think this QL has inspired me to go back and finish it).

I've been hearing a lot about this game and I bought it a few hours ago. It's really good. It has a nice difficulty and the cutesy character designs hide a story that isn't so friendly.

I was initially saddened by the lack of Huzzah!, but I actually like the Oh Yeaaah!! better.

This game looks great!

I loved the PC version of this, when I played it some years ago. Watching the QL made me want to play it again, so I'll probably get it on the Wii. Weird how watching the video made me realize how much I've forgotten about it. The only recolection I have of it is that it gets pretty hard, and that the story was extremely sad.

So many Lost references...this makes me so bloody happy, brother.

First of all Cave Story is great, and if there were a way to pay for the PC version I would do that (I haven't been able to find one). Therefore I will be buying this game and playing it on classic mode. Hopefully it's in 480p unlike Mega Man 10.

I still think it's a bummer that some of the 12 bucks goes to people who made a lackluster port, rather than it all going to a dude who made a perfect game over 5 years.

I realize the art is all new, it doesn't play well in the video. The trouble is, since the original is so detailed it's hard to tell the difference. All in all I prefer the pixelated stuff anyway. I can't believe Nicalis released a port missing musical instruments. The ITEM GET music is so subdued :(

Nicalis is also working on the La Mulana Port (http://8bithorse.blogspot.com/2009/12/la-mulana-wiiware.html) and that is a clear improvement over the original. I'm not saying they should've taken that route with CS, the original stuff is great, but it's just more obvious what got changed. (I also hope that La Mulana has a classic graphics mode)

I've played this game so many times that it was brutal at times watching them wander around aimlessly. But then again, my first play through was no better.
