The parry mechanic reminds me of bash from Ori and the Blind Forest.

This looks like a game I might end up buying only for the graphics and not the actual gameplay. Which, IMO, is kind of a bad thing.

I mean, shit, if this was some kind of exploration based rpg or character action game, I'd probably preorder. But 2d sidescroller/boss rush? No thanks. But this game took forever to make and I can only imagine how long a bigger game like this would take.

I'm a little suprised at the difficulty level of this. Wondering if they made it super-hard just to lengthen the game out... Looks incredible though.

It sucks that there isn't a better print available. Maybe one day it'll get restored.

Audio levels are way lower than usual in this video.

Anyway, between this and Ori the Xbone really outshines the PS4 when it comes to 2D sidescrollers, the best thing we've got is Rayman Legends (which is a last-gen game).

I love the narrative of this game's development.

Game is shown. Excitement. Revealed to be pure boss rush. Disappointment. Devs decide to add side-scrolling platforming levels. People play them and don't think that they're very good. Devs probably bash their heads against their desks.

Anyway, Cuphead looks like my kind of game. Will buy it eventually.

This game is freaking fantastic.

The gameplay feels a lot better than expected. When I saw footage earlier I thought the gameplay looked kind of meh but it really REAlLY sucks you in. You get so focused and it has that 'just one more go' kind of itch that all coin guzzlers have. This feels like a coin guzzler but the good news is you dont need to put in a quarter every time you die, the challenge feels fair though and that's key.

Holy Cup- this looks good. Talk about a game that nails it with the styyyyyyyyyyyyyyle. Grew up seeing quite a lot of classic cartoons in syndication so it's awesome to see this design carry over into this cool little video game. The actual structure of the game reminds me a bit of Shovel Knight. Audio for you guys seemed off maybe new mics are in order.

The actual game itself doesn't appear to be anything special among its kind, but man. How hard they nailed the visual style they were going for cannot be overstated. I don't think it could have been done any better, it's just perfection.

Okay, they finally show something that's as or more complex than Super Mario Bros platforming or a Mega Man boss, so this now looks cool.

Artistically this game is a triumph. I'm not so sure about the gameplay though. I couldn't really hear the gameplay very well in this video but the sound seems good too.

I'm through the first two bosses and run and gun levels and holy crap is this game amazing. Graphics, sound, and game play are all frigging fantastic.

The Contra-style stuff has never been something I'm super into (dating back to when Contra was actually new), but yeah, this thing looks great even though we've all had a couple of years to get over the initial impression of it.

Too tough for me.

I haven't heard anything about this yet, but for some reason I expect a lot of people do find it disappointing.

There are a lot of people who ape the old cartoon style but these guys went out and simulated the old Fleischer Rotograph where they would shoot cels in front of diorama to get really good 3d parallax. super impressive. love the style in this top to bottom
