Quick Look: Deadliest Warrior: The Game

I would lose my head too if I where in this game.

Not sure what to think of this game.
I played the demo. But it didn't do much for me...
But there seems to be a lot of people playing it...
maybe there's hidden depth to it that I didn't see.
I'll have to give the demo another shot.

Heh. This was a pretty low key Quick Look (even with Alex Navarro) but there are some great moments. Apache Ninja. Hide in a fire. Robocop as the last boss. Awesome. It's everything I could have hoped for.

As cool as ninja are... they pretty much were peasants in dark clothes who robbed houses and stabbed dudes in the back. They weren't really fighters. "

During the night though, they typically wore dark blue stuff. The blue helps them blend in with the moonlight and prevents their silhouettes from being too dark and obvious.  
 
Almost nothing about the way we imagine ninjas now is true. The whole stealth black thing came from banraku theater and artistic interpretations. It's kind of a bummer, really.

Performance issues aside, the only thing that bugs me about the game is the goofy ass ragdolls, and yeah, played the arcade a few times and went...well...thats that. They don't do a terrific job of making the unlocks fun to see when they just show you them up front, killing you.
 
But ah, whatever i liked it, i confess i like the show in it's ridiculous American-ness. Did make me want a new Bushido Blade instead.

Btw you only get one shot out of a Flintlock pistol because they take too long to reload which is why the Pirate carries 3

Never saw the show but I ended up getting the game. It was only 800msp and is fun to play with friends. No move sets to learn so you can just jump in and play without any effort. It's not a serious contender for fighting games, but those who like high damage and dismemberment might enjoy it. Sadly it's no Bushido Blade.

I'm hoping to co-producing Deadliest Mouth Warrior.

This looks like a fun idea for a fighting game with some really janky, bare bones production values.

Ninjas were not good warriors, they were good at running away. they used tricks that made people think they were demons or ghosts so they would be afraid to follow, misdirection. one ninja of note even used to have caged animals (like monkeys) so as he ran away he could get to it and unleash it (dressed like him) and people thought he turned into an animal. That is not gonna beat a viking hand to hand, unless the viking is sleeping. 
   And an Apache in the woods vs a knight would be a totally different battle than Apache vs knight on an open battlefield, I wonder do they address this on the show? Or a knight on the open sea vs a pirate would be dumb, but assaulting a castle would again be a very different scenario....

I knew it. The pirate is the best, because he just whips out firearms.

I just found out what Deadliest Warrior was abour a week ago and it sounds really stupid, like in the "stupid American TV" sort of stupid.

The Navy Seal has this MP5, but this ninja has... um, magic?

Any fan of Deadliest Warrior knows you need 1000 matches to prove ANYTHING.  Every match should be best out of 1000 rounds.
