Quick Look: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I had tons of ammo the whole game, so I'm not entirely sure what that complaint was about. I was literally dropping ammo all over the place, not to mention how annoying it was that basically every corpse had ammo on it that I didn't want to loot.

i'm going to play it on the PC.. but which control system did you like more - 360 pad or the k/b?

I really, really hate the main character's voice. Just thinking about playing this game and having to listen to his voice the entire time makes me nauseous.

I actually love Sarif's voice! He sounds like a Californian Silicon Valley techno hippie, which is kind of what he is. 
 
I like a lot of the voice acting, actually, even Adam Jensen's dude sounds like he's doing a JC Denton thing. And the stuff that IS terrible? Well, that's just another part of being a Deus Ex game!

Everything about this game looks interesting, except for the horrible mouth animations.

So now I understand why #chan was all over Twitter yesterday. Personally I think all the bad aspects which they flagged up were equally true of the original game. It had horrendously short sighted AI and pretty bad voice acting across the board, but it's still one of my all-time favourite games. Really looking forward to playing this now.

Gotta say, Ive really enjoyed this game.  Saw a walk through video of the first real area a while back and was not impressed.  Looked very dated, and boring.  If your on the fence Id definitely say pick it up.  It seems to be a game you really need to play to get the experience.

I think some of the complaints about the AI and voice acting are warranted, but I don't agree with all the reasons given.  For example, Sarif's voice actor is actually quite good and gives a pretty solid performance, even if the tone of his voice is a little grating... while the liquid-smooth faux-English accent of Hugh Darrow is just annoying.  I think Human Revolution is overall a good example of voice acting that isn't Voice Acting!.  As for the AI, yes, it's exploitable and has some bugs... but it's also more sophisticated in a lot of ways than most other AIs, and the problems are relatively few., only really accentuated because Jeff seems to be playing in a way that shows some of those problems off.  You seriously think that Mass Effect 2 has better AI than this, you need help... I don't even think that game has AI beyond "look at player and shoot."
 
Also, not sure about the problems with combat.  It's not Gears of War, you can't charge in and destroy everything... the tolerance for failure is simply lower than most other shooters.  Meanwhile, lack of ammo a problem?  Exactly how is resource management in an RPG a negative feature?  Hell, if anything I'm sad there's a lot less of it... would have loved multitools and lockpicks in this game.

The helicopter pilot is a pretty lady. Unlike Jensen's dead girlfriend.

Don't mind Jensen's VA, it's a bit silly but it just reminds me of JC Denton, which is good.

Then I realized there weren't any developers in the mix...

I came 16 times playing this game.  This game lives up to the priors and surpasses them all.  Fuckin-A.  A good game can still be made in this shit day and age.

But seriously, you fucks, all the voice acting is superb in this game.  If you disagree you enjoy razor-lined cocks in your asshole.  Submit to my opinion.  Hugs and kisses.

Giant Bomb should make a commission on sales of this game, because it seems they have sold a few copies by covering it. I had no idea what to think about this game until now. Now I want to haz it.
