Got the PS3 version of DIablo 3. Will probably get this version on PS3 as well.

EDIT: PS3/360 versions will not get any patches!

I really liked the PS3 version, so I'm looking forward to continuing my characters on the PS4. After experiencing offline play, I can't really go back to the PC version.

I really, really wish this was out today and not next week. I love, love, love D3 but can't play the PC version anymore.

Played 24 hours of D3 at launch and haven't touched it since. Kind of curious to see how much has changed, but $60.........

If sony ever felt the need to make another god of war game, I totally think they should make it a diabloesque game with god of war combat. Doesn't that sound like a great idea? I know, right?

While the UI obviously looks way more cumbersome I wonder how the gameplay compares to playing on PC. Anyone got experience with both and feel that either plays better ?

Any time I see the GB guys play this game, and talk about it, it still just seems boring to me. I mean, it's great that there's console versions now, and controller controls would go a long way to make the game palatable to me, but I'm still not interested.

ATTENTION PS3/360 PLAYERS!!!

I just read that the PS3/360 version will NOT recieve any patch support for future patches. It will have a day one patch but that is it. It will be forever stuck at that while PC/PS4/XONE will get newer patches.

Now I don't know if I should get it on PS3 or get it on PC. On PC I need to buy the original game first so it becomes twice as expensive and I loose my PS3 save.

Sucks for us last gen users.

ARPGs are right up there with MMOs as prime "things you can sorta zone out and play while watching something else," which Jeff seems to like as much as I do.

The combat and game feel on the console versions is changed to closer fit a controller style. The best analog I can come up with is that the PC versions play like the Diablo you know and love(?) and the console versions play a lot like the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance games.

For a console experience it actually plays VERY well.

Griping over the difficulty rankles me a bit, because the idea is you set it to a level that suits you. If it's too easy (regardless what the name of the difficulty is) just notch it up until it's challenging but not overwhelming. Don't leave it on a level that offers no challenge and complain that it's too easy.

I had friends that gave up on the PC version partway through Nightmare difficulty because they found it too hard, whereas I didn't have any problems until I hit Inferno. Everyone's different.

Literally the only thing that I think is worse on a controller is ground-targeted abilities, like some Wizard spells. Instead of letting you target them arbitrarily, they're (I think) always centered around an enemy target that you designate via the lock-on function. Everything else feels totally normal.

To me, the benefit of local multiplayer (without needing to buy multiple copies of the game) and lag-free offline play more than make up for whatever minor drawbacks the console version may otherwise have.

My hype for this game went from really hyped to totally bummed from learning it will not get any patches on PS3/360...There is a lot planned for 2.1 and they say it will be stuck on 2.06 forever.

Ive been playing games like this on console for years. I can handle any clunky UI.

I was ready to double dip and get it on the PS4. But this really unsold me. Im still playing on the PC and loving it, but the menu system just seems really clunky here. That said, watching D3 being played cant be compared to actually playing it yourself. So I will just have to see what i do come next week!

I held off playing the 360 version just to get it for the new consoles, and the wait has been long.... but FINALLY the day is near! I cannot WAIT to get my hand on this !

that UI looks painful to navigate. Though I have re-installed D3 and proceeded to continue my 53 monk and 58 crusader. This is a PC game..

Anything under torment mode is SUPER ez.

torment 3-4 is my sweet spot.

Ugh, that NPC explaining adventure mode. Having an in-game character speak in such videogame-y terms just sounds wrong.

Yea the new difficulty modes are bullshit. I still dont know how they just up and ditched Normal, Nightmare and Hell modes. Those were iconic to the Diablo games. Blizzard CAVED HARD to the whining players. Made the game a total cake walk, and just throw legendary items at you left and right. They really turned it into a casual game.

Good to know that 6 years later he's still just as into Persona 4 as I am.

It works perfectly fine on consoles. Diablo 3 feels like it was made for console. I admit I never thought it would play well with a controller but playing D3 on PS3 I canot think it would be any better on PC. I've not played D3 on PC but I've played Diablo 2 and Torchlight 2 on PC and I prefer D3 on console. It playes really well.

@john1912: "They turned it into a casual game" and here I've spent 500 hours playing the PC version and still haven't gotten the item I need for my build.

The difficulty isn't really about being hard or easy it's just about what gear you have and that's always how it's been, can't do torment level 3? Okay then do Torment 1 until you get better gear, is hard mode easy for you? Then move up a difficulty level because you've out-geared hard mode.

This'll be my first Diablo, looking forward to it. I wanted to start out with the Monk but I've heard bad things about it while looking through forums recently. Maybe it'll be different on console?

This looks and runs soooo much better than on my crummy pc, that it's almost a good enough reason to buy it again. If only the price would be around 40 euros or so...

Never cared enough about this kind of game to look into it before, but if I burn out on the EA Access games in the next week or three I may actually pick this up on XBone, especially since Destiny has kind of lost my interest. I suppose this is as good a place to start as any.

Maybe you guys would have liked it better if you bothered to make use of arguably the best feature of this version, by allowing brad to hop in with you. Even at lvl 1 he could have joined Jeff and have played through the same content. Surely would have been more fun.
