Been out for a while in Europe, already 100%'d the single player. Recommended only for DiRT fanatics!

As for DIRT Showdown here, I gotta say, I've been looking forward to this. Arcade racers are in a sad, sad place these days - the superior, tight, responsive handling of games like Burnout and the old Ridge Racers are dead. Now even "arcade racers" have heavy physics models that demand you brake to take turns. Except for Trackmania. I was hoping that Showdown was going to be a true arcade racer from Codemasters, with fun controls. Guess I'm going to find out.

Man that clock ticking isn't annoying at all.

I didn't have any issues with most of the X-games stuff in D3, but goddamn was that Gymkhana annoying as all get out.

If CM want's to put those in D4, fine, just make them completely optional.

Had a bunch of fun playing the multiplayer demo, but not sure that I would actually buy the whole game.

You call those drifts, Ryan? Should have gotten the Master of Drift Jeff Gerstmann to do this shit.

Seems It has everything that appeals to me in racing games, yet still has enough Dirt-isms to make me totally hate it. I loathed Dirt 3, yet I really liked Dirt 2 and I don't even know how anymore.

Also, check it out, a sunset in a racing game.

I want Dirt 4 to be hard-core rally-style and laden with beautifully detailed cockpits.

The reason Dirt Showdown looks flat and feels different is because its heavily modded version of Grid but with ruined handling. I guess they didnt think anyone would notice that some of the tracks and cars look a little too familiar. Buy Grid instead, its a Touring Car version of Dirt and its just as good.

I miss Rallisport Challenge.

All the stuff I hate that they have been putting in Dirt in a whole game. Pass gimme Dirt 4 instead and keep this stuff in the new spin off series.

Would be so awesome, the first DiRT game is still my favorite by far, never played 2 and while 3 wasn't bad at all, I want some straight up rally courses that takes more than 3 minutes to complete! The Hill Climbing stuff from the first game was some of the most fun I've had with a racing game.

HD has been on youtube for a long time now. That hasn't been a premium feature for a while.

Drew : "Also no cockpit view" ... oh well that's it then, I thought it was only in the demo what a bummer , I don't really know for who is this game aiming for, it's not for the hardcore rally fans and is not for those who enjoyed DiRT 2's non-rally modes and the extreme , Rockstar, X-games stuff like I did in my brief time with that game so I'm kinda dissapointed by this as is not even arcade enough to be fun as other arcade racers nor is the demolition derby that big of a hook , bring on GRID 2 or DiRT 4.

I wonder if anybody at any point in the development of that game actually had fun playing that demolition derby level.

Why would they do this to the Dirt franchise.Yet another, "oh let's remove everything that made our product stand out so we can attempt to sell to anyone."

I hope they learn a lesson when this inevitably doesn't sell.

For anybody looking for a real demo derby, figure 8, dirt track racing game, try finding a copy of the Test Drive: Eve of Destruction on the original Xbox. It's backwards compatible so you can play it on your 360. It obviously doesn't hold up visually to newer games, but the gameplay does with a full career mode and lots of events.

More Drew please! Snap it on!

Dirt 4 had better have more rally emphasis in exchange for this thing they've put out here. This is Stuff I Don't Like About Recent Dirt Games: The Game.

About Codemasters menus. They're nifty and all but please PLEASE stop making the camera very slowly swim around when the menus are on screen! It gives me motion sickness if I have to look at it for more than a few seconds.

When I first started watching this, I thought it was a downloadable game... I think it'd do better for $15-$20.
