It's disappointing that they left out the in the cockpit view. Once you really perfect your driving skills in the Dirt series switching to in the cab view offers a completely different experience that requires way more practice to get down on harder difficulties.

To omit this limits the replay value for me. The game itself looks good so I'll wait on a Steam price drop.

The announcer in this game sounds wayyy too Wii Sports for me.

I was thinking more of a racing game with a vats system, that indicates how much damage you'll inflict if you ram them in certain spots. And a dialogue tree reserved for giving people the finger and saying stuff like 'get that piece of shit out of my way, goddamit' and 'arrrrrrggggg, my car's on fire'.

I was thinking more of a racing game with a vats system, that indicates how much damage you'll inflict if you ram them in certain spots. Sounds like the Dirt series to me.

Between this and Forza Horizon, 2012 is shaping up to be the year of rebooting great sim racers into arcade fluff. It annoys me when developers slap the name of a great franchise on shit like just this just to push copies because of "brand recognition". Granted, it's not like they called it Dirt 4 or something but it still just rubs me the wrong way. If you want to make a more accessible racing game, make a whole new IP instead of piggy backing off the big name.

And don't get me wrong, I don't hate arcade racers at all. I can't fucking wait for Need for Speed Most wanted. The difference is that Criterion knows how to make an amazing arcade game. It's what they do best and if I'm in the market for that kind of game, I'm going to them to get it.

I am going to make a controversial statement here: this game is great.
