One of the few games I am sad to not see a Quick Look EX of.

It makes me feel happy and warm inside that Jason does not know the name of that Star Wars character.

Jeff just getting mad at the Tron stuff in the game and the way Disney has (not) used the franchise is still funny.

Can anyone explain to me why the 'in' in Infinity is the main emphasis and the standalone logo? Is it like 'Jump In'? Get in on this? Play IN our toybox? I'm only just really noticing it now as I've been staring at it too long when they're in the menu.

When the original Disney Infinity came out, it was estimated to cost over $250 if you purchased everything at launch. Has anyone got an update cost as of DI 3.0? Just looking at the DI Collection page looks huge.

When can I play as other Disney-owned properties, like Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor having to assemble the Man's Kitchen on Tool Time, or having Stephen A. Smith spout out incomprehensible garbage on First Take, or play as Michael Eisner as I buy out every major IP in a vicious facet to make up for the fact that Disney cannot profit unless it clamps and takes highly popular properties?

@mrcraggle: well so far I got all star wars characters, plus the two tron characters as well as the star wars saga collection for ps4 bc it came with boba fett, so thats 8 figures at 14 bucks each and 115 for the saga collection I got and that is... damn 228 dollar... wtf did I do... lol

I think I'd like this franchise more if it weren't for the really sleazy toy mechanic that it's built around. Buying a game that only includes a handful of characters and then having to buy little collectible figurines to "unlock" the rest... ugh. I'm used to car packs and DLC packs and bla bla bla after all the years of micro-transaction hijinks, but this is a bit much.

It'd be like buying Marvel: Ultimate Alliance back in 2006 and only getting Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man (all missions require a team of four characters or you'd have less). "Want the others? Well, you're in luck. We sell each character separately for about $10 to $15 bucks. You even get a little plastic figurine to go along with the activation code / base. We've also got $30 dollar two-packs and $40.00 three packs. Best Value!"

Is there even a way to earn in-game currency to just buy the character you want that way, like in Heroes of the Storm? I've never heard of such a thing, so I highly doubt it. It's an overt cash grab designed to cozy up to parental wallets. There's zero subtlety. *shrug*

This was written before the Marvel-focused Disney Infinity 2.0, and definitely before the Lucas-focused Disney Infinity 3.0. I'm not saying that these games aren't well made. They're just greedy, especially since they're Disney games using Disney-owned characters and settings. It's not like Disney is having to pay itself gargantuan licensing fees to use its own intellectual properties.

Here in the UK they're £12.99 per figure which puts them closer to $20 per figure. Which is super janky as a playset which has 2 figures and the level is £30. The pricing for this game and series as a whole has always just seemed so gross yet so Disney. Of course they're going to push whatever they can get away with. The thing that sucks though is that the games aren't made with previous playsets in mind. Want to go back and play that Pirates of the Caribbean playset? Well you've got to go back to that first game rather than something that constantly expanding and updating. I guess the downside there would be storage but it's not like this game is dealing with a lot of detail. The graphics are stylised in a way that the texture work doesn't have to be super high res or that the polygons don't have to be in the hundreds of thousands.

This seems cool, maybe I'll pick up 2.0 since I don't really care for Star Wars.

Pretty sure the expansions are only $20, they seem to be $40 on Amazon right now because the first party sellers are out of stock and third parties are selling them at a marked up price. Also because the expansion is not technically out yet, only for people who pre-ordered the game.

I really like the art style, looks way more polished than the last time I saw Disney Infinity.

Just thought I'd point out that the Toybox Takeover game is 20 bucks, not 40 like they mention in the Quick Look.

Jeff's Tron talk got me YouTubing Tron Legacy clips and I remembered how friggin' rad that movie and its soundtrack are. I then googled the status of Tron 3 and found out it was cancelled in May. Now I'm sad.

These games just look like a bore to play.

The new vehicle based Skylanders game actually looks kind of fun. First time I've felt that way about a toys-to-life game.

This is a kids game right? Because trying to sit down and play this with my kid seems like a nightmare, there is entirely too much game going on here.

At least they've gotten better with not needing additional figures to play co-op straight out the box now.

As someone who was a kid when Episode 1 came out, I loved Jar Jar Binks. I have to imagine kids today still love Jar Jar Binks if they're introduced to him the same kind of way. Everyone has a moment where they don't like Jar Jar anymore.
