Just got this game on PSN, and I'm enjoying it. Wanna play multiplayer with other players to see if it really is better to play this on multiplayer.

Also, white suit and black shades Seth Killian is best Seth Killian.

I like this game a lot but it's missing some real basic shit, like a practive mode (to figure out some of the more esoteric characters) local stats, or even just a win / loss counter on the current Versus session. It's crazy to release a fighting game these days without stuff like that.

My problem with this game is pretty much the same one Drew voiced on the Bombcast. When I first heard about Divekick, I thought "great, a fighting game without all the bullshit." Now watching this quick look it seems like they added a ton of bullshit that drives me away from fighting games. Also I don't get any of the humor.

It's all fighting game community humor. And I mean, they had to add some variety and depth to the characters or else the novelty would wear off in like 15 minutes. It's still extremely basic, it is just each character has a trick or two.

I can't believe people are actually complaining that this is too complex and are comparing it to other fighting games. It takes a minute to learn what these characters do. Pick up Street Fighter 4 and other "real" fighting games and you will spend dozens hours learning a character's combos, footsies, match-ups, etc.

With this game, all you need to learn is how the characters move and how they match-up with your own. This will give the game some legs and keep it interesting longer. If you just had two characters, Dive and Kick, this game would get old quick.

I think you are missing the point.

People who don't like fighting games don't like them because they have no interest in learning the ins and outs of each character, they either don't care enough or don't have the time to learn about the meta, the counters, the way each character fights.

By introducing that aspect to this game, regardless of how "simple" it is compared to most fighting games, you are completely turning off anyone that doesn't really care about fighting games.

If that was the developers intention, then whatever, they succeeded, but if they were trying to make a game that can appeal to everyone, even people who have little to no interest in fighting games, then they failed.

The people complaining are not saying it is a bad game, I am sure it is a wonderful and fun game. I just feel like the developers missed a big opportunity by going the route they did.

Yeah I guess, but again the game is still simple enough to just pick up and play and do those really simple things, the "complicated stuff" is less complicated than most any video games made in the last 10 or so years, except for like...Canabault or something as basic and forgettable (I mean I like that game but its on my phone to pass the time and usually I forget it exists.) Then again, you can play this game like Canabault anyway.

Real sad the online on this dried up in about 2 weeks. I'd still be playing it TODAY if I could've kept finding games.
