@MeatballTuesday: There are lots of indie games on Steam that are priced at (and over) $20. They don't even set the price on a game until AFTER it's been approved for the service.

Yeah I played a game called "ESCAPE VELOCITY NOVA" back then, looked almost exactly like this, a little less in depth, but again that actually was the early 2000s.

Escape Velocity is amazing; one of the core games of my childhood. It's great to see games like the one in the above quick look keep the space trader genre alive.

Annnnd copy sold!

Quick Looks sell more games to me than the reviews do.

Played the beta months and months ago.

The game is solid and interesting to be sure, but combat gets repetitive fast and the 4X elements are very underdeveloped. They did make improvements since I played last, but they aren't as big as I was expecting. To me it's much like other Soldak games - a good concept but left under-developed and meant to survive on its own uniqueness, rather than strength of the core gameplay and replayability,

You could make the most effective drinking game in the world by taking a shot every time they make a mistake in these things.

Bonus shots if you include Patrick saying something colossally stupid, Brad dying, or Ryan getting frustrated over obvious stuff that he only misses because he is apparently completely illiterate and has ADHD.

Ryan's reaction to Jeff getting money out of an anomaly got the exact same reaction out of me

Rather fun though while playing the demo, trying out the 2nd or 3rd different race in the game I'd hit the same problem. Finish off a couple quests & hit level2 maybe level3, finally jump into the 2nd sector only to find that not only that the enemies are all around level5 but there's a small gang of them right at the space gate going to the sector which means instant death. Not sure if this is just something they put in to keep people from just playing the demo instead of buying the full game but it's rather vexing problem of the enemies scaling too fast.

Is it just me, or does the Utopian's symbol look like a swastika?

Wow I don't even have to look it up and can tell just by the character setup screen that this was made by the people who made Din's Curse. It's almost copied directly from it.

Gaming on a mac back in the day at it's best. So many memories of EV and mods.

Have you seen the beginning of the Skyrim: Dragonborn quicklook? You really should.

Is it fun though? I can't tell. The sum of the parts point to something I would enjoy.

...for way more than they should cost. But I suppos that makes sense, the people like us that still care about them are probably willing to pay that, and anyone else wouldn't be willing to pay $5.

Another 100 Greenlight games are going to be added to steam and still no Drox :(
