finally got that first comment quest out of the way, actually curious to see how this game improves from the first

epic!

"This game is THICK with collectables", whelp. I'm out.

My OCD does not let me enjoy games with collectables. I try to keep them mostly for another playthrough (even though this never happens) but I always end up looking for them all on the first time I play a game so much that I end up blatantly running in to harms way because 'ohh shiny thing!'

I had such high hopes for this. What happened Warren???

GB gave the first game 2 stars. That was so out of whack it't laughable. The game had some camera issues but was fine otherwise. So excuse me if I don't give a damn what they thing about this one. Just keep pumping out entertaining videos GB, I learned long LONG ago not to listen to you about games. You are a source of entertainment for me and that's it. If I listened to your reviews I would have missed out on some truly great games over the years.

Yup, that works for me. What a squandered opportunity for such a strong license. And apparently they didn't improve upon the gameplay the second time around...

The 2D sections look like World Gone Sour.

Considering how much of this game's marketing talked up the co-op I'm a little curious as to why they chose not to show any of it.

Seems like the type of game that I could enjoy playing co-op with my son despite it's shortcomings.

This game just looks... tedious.

If you're not here to get GB's take on games, why are you spending the money to be a premium member? You could spend that dough on other forms of entertainment.

I really wish they had showed how the camera works in co-op, my girlfriend played the first game but whether or not we can play this one in co-op without camera issues is the main decision point as to whether or not we buy it.

Developers shouldn't insult kids by pumping out mediocre crap like this just because they don't know any better. The Lego games have proven time and again that you can make a game that's both fun for kids AND just plain fun.

I'm more fustrated than anything else when I see this. I do not doubt either Jeff or Ryan, but this does not have to be a mature man's game like COD watching dudes burn to appeall to me. Not these days. Colors, imagination and scenery and even a rabbit my Dad may have remembered has my interest.

Wish it was better. Oh well, I'm getting Legoes-LOTR. That will be more fun than having to look at Frank roll around and mumble off some number driven paranoid bs to why 2 machetes are more fun than one.

Actually doesn't look that bad, but maybe you have to play it to "feel" it?

Yeah. Why would anyone get a shit platformer on the system whose flagship franchise sets the platforming standard?

This, however, FEELS worse. There aren't a fuckton of options for pure platforming, especially on Xbox 360. There's a hole this game could have filled if it wasn't such shit.

even by the end of the quick look i was really sick of the stupid noises mickey makes. especially when he jumps.

Disappointing. This series had so much promise and a lot of good ideas and it just seems like they've squandered all of it.

I have small children, they did not like the original. the exact quote from my 8 year old son was "boring" sounds about right for two stars.

If it has Mickey Mouse in it, and it isn't Castle of Illusions, then it can safely be ignored...

Do you think it's partially to do with warren having kids? I find that people change a lot after they have children. They then try and cater their creative work towards what their children would appreciate.

This is admirable, it also - in my opinion - not something that produces 'game changers'. Like, say.. Deus ex.

Man, the original was supposed to combine the best of Deus Ex and Super Mario Galaxy with Disney's touch of wonder and their forgotten characters in this pretty amazing art style. But good lord, how they totally and utterly have fucked all of that up. 

The game being shown does not look as bad as Ryan is making it out to be. I can't tell if this just isn't a good game for Ryan, or if the mechanics are just worse in other stages that aren't being shown. I might get it to review it myself.

The green guy sounds like Jayce from the Ginyu Force.

Shame. I love the old Disney platformers, and would be all over a decent new one.

Ninja Gaiden isn't a platformer. DMC has also always had camera problems but it never detracted from the gameplay in the same way that shoddy camera does in a 3D platformer.

the first ninja gaiden of the modern franchise had a couple of platforming segments, none which were really made any better because of the camera

I still wish they had made a 2D or 2½D platformer with the dark and mysterious aesthetic of the concept art and a more cartoony graphical style (shaders or whatever) than this. Fantastical and spooky without actually being scary... and none of that paint/thinner stuff.

Sort of Rayman Origins'ish in the platform-reform aspect, but with mystery, darkness and ambiance rather than silliness, brightness and slapstick. They could still do co-op if they wanted.

Whatever problems this game might or might not have, Ryan's terribleness at games makes every game look 100x more clumsy.
