This guy should've just moved on. I understand you're very proud of your point and click UI, but it just isn't fun to watch you go through in a video like this. The interesting part is obviously around how you've structured your puzzles, show that.

This guy needs to stop talking and explaining absurdly simple stuff and let them play the damned game. It's a waste of a format based around people being entertaining while playing through a game an figuring it out to have a dev give mind-numbing, step-by-step commentary in the driest way possible while Brad and Dan are dead quiet.

Now, I'm not old enough to have played the original when it was new, but the problem I see with this modernized remake is that it isn't modernized enough. To me it looks like it still uses mechanics that have been dated for some time and since improved.

Any love for Shadowgate 64? It was my first adventure game.

Also, everyone has different skillsets, and not everyone is an engaging public speaker. If it were easy for everyone to be entertaining on-screen, people wouldn't get paid for it. That being said, I still burst out laughing at:

I can hit him, and he falls down.

Haha Carl Roofels.

Oh man, when the game started I remembered that Shadowgate was one of the first games I owned on the Game Boy color. I recall the interface on that system being not great and I never played that much of it.

It was neat to see the dev go through the original game at the end.

Slow, nothing to level, no combative challenge, no interesting puzzles, dull visuals. I know this is the type of game of a select number of people, but something like this really isn't for me.

.. Boy.. That was some quicklook.

I could write paragraphs about what I didn't like, but where's the fun in that? So let's focus on the positive aspects. Game itself looked interesting, and the artstyle was gorgeous.
We don't get a lot of good adventure games these days, and I think that titles like The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us, while terrific, don't really qualify as such anymore.
I also don't think I'll ever be able to forget about skull with glasses, and maybe the guys will make a quicklook of their own upon it's release.

Yeah, that about covers it. Now I need a beer.

I'm getting like a Bob Ross feeling from this guys voice, he's almost like a teacher in the way he's demo-ing this. 'What should happen if I double click the door?' 'You should go through?' 'Yeah, there you go.'

I was thinking this was going to be like that 4 party tile based dungeon game that I'm completely blanking on the name of but it's not, more like as he says, a text adventure but with graphics.

I played the original NES version as a kid, probably at the same age Brad did. It was just such an amazing game. Got me into adventure games as well, Lucas Arts games in particular.

Also: DAMN that music tickles me way down in my nostalgia plums. That music is like the real true RPG style of music to me. Excited about the new one.

I can't wait until this is done. I had the old game memorized for a long time. It's also one of the only games that I returned because the first time I bought it, I couldn't solve the first puzzle and returned it, claiming it was broken.

I might have missed it but I'd like to see them add an option to mousewheel through the various commands. The interface up top, while a nostalgic throwback, looks a little cluttered.

Woah there! There are tons of good adventure games coming out these days! Besides all the Telltale games, companies like Daedalic, Wadjet Eye and Pendulo are putting out some great games in the genre. Not to mention classics like Monkey Island and Broken Sword getting mobile versions on iOS and Android, it's really a great time for adventure games.

8-bit mode = pixelated filter :|

Also, it's a pity that the new dragon room is far less intense than the NES version. The music in that version just screams 'you're fucked now'.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing this, as well as the possible remakes/rereleases of Uninvited/Deja Vu, since I never played them.

The funny thing for me is I had a PC before a nintendo and the first Nintendo adventure game I played was Deja Vu. I remember renting it.

I had only heard of this one, but I never played it.

I hope they get to remake Deja Vu. That'd be kinda nuts. Loved that game, though.
