This looks pretty fun, but with no online and as a full priced retail game I'm gonna have to pass.

Nintendo launch? Better release our 5$ tiny game as a full retail release!

Because only 1 player has the 2 analogue sticks, the remaining 3 players are using Wii Remotes to play. And this shit probably got past testing so they've got something to sell at launch, doesn't matter if the product looks like a $20 digital only title it's still gonna sell because people will just buy it together with their Wii U console.

the game itself aside, taking dumb pictures of yourself that get plastered on in-game textures is the exact kind of shenanigans that these Wii U gimmicks ought to encourage

We do have guidelines, and this meets them.

The 'EX' has nothing to do with length, or even quality. It's just indicative of devs coming and showing a game, rather than the GB guys looking at it on their own. That's all it's ever been.

I think the game looks pretty fun. I wouldn't go out and buy it at full price, though. $15 download might be better? Hard to say since they didn't show what the story mode is like.

I would pay maybe $15 max for that game, but no online along with a full $60 price tag does not seem like a worthy investment. The game does look like fun though.

Not sure if someone's said this, but this just looks a lot like someone took Earth Defense Force 2017 (a Namco/Bandai property I believe), changed it to vehicles and added the Wii U screen/multiplayer support. I mean I'm not saying it looks really bad or anything (EDF was actually kind of fun with the right group), it just doesn't seem like a strong enough title to pull interest at launch. Then again, there were a lot of games like this for the Wii and people bought them, so it'll probably move some copies.

This game is a port of an older Arcade game that's been around for a few years, so of course it isn't going to look cutting edge. My friends and I have played it at our local Arcade before and it's actually a really fun game, especially if you're a fan of the Earth Defense Force games.

If you mean Battalion Wars, yes I was thinking of that a lot. I think this actually looks promising, but full price may be pushing it. Perhaps on the cheap down the line it would be a fun one to pick up.

Dude, you can´t release this as a retail game these days. This game would probably be a hard sell on any online service at 15 or 20 dollars, but at retail 40/50 dollars?

And they wonder why this industry is going downhill. All these studio closures over the last couple of years are a direct result of BAD BUSINESS and this game getting a retail release pretty much sums it up.

I love Nintendo and own all their consoles prior to the Wii, they have just lost direction really badly this time, this is simply my opinion, if you dont agree then thats fine but don't accuse me of throwing a hissy fit, I am merely stating what I believe.

This seems like a pretty fun title. Bunch of dorm room tournies will be had.

Those bashing the graphics of and seeming bare-bones-ness to it are not necessarily unjustified, but it should be kept in mind that this was released for arcades in 2009. It's an attempt at a cash grab, no doubt, but yeah, it's history "justifies" why it is what it is.

This game is fucking FUN in arcades. The machines are awesome.

This doesn't look very fun. I'd be amazed if they try to sell this for more than 30 bucks. Even then it's a hard sell.

It's Earth Defense Force, shoved through a "Tonka Tucks" filter. Done. How hard is it to sell that?

Looks simple, but it's easy to see how it could be super, super fun with friends - as any good EDF style game should. Love the color, and monster designs, and I'm a sucker for cute little Battalion Wars-style toy tanks anyway. Just reminds me of having a toy box and having a ton of vehicles to play with.

Price this right (or make it an eShop download), and it could find it's audience. Hopefully... oh wait, no on-line mode? C'MON Japan! When will Japanese developers learn? All their "stupid, simple fun" games like this need multiplayer. And all multiplayer modes on-line modes these days; America is a HUGE country. Friends are spread out; we need online.

With online multiplayer, this would be awesome. Take advantage of that Mii Plaza bullshit; that thing should be like one big arcade, and you should be able to go up to a group of people and be all, "Wanna play some 'Tank! Tank! Tank!'?". And then you just hop into a game lobby and go. Then this would be a must buy.
