Notice that during the boss battle, the boss' health bar doesn't appear until the first time Jeff uses EDGE and then the health bar is full. Everything before that point was completely ineffective and meaningless. Ugh.

I don't know?  Didn't seem that bad?  I mean, it's no modern warfare, but it doesn't seem awlful.  That boss battle did drag a little bit.
 
I'm a huge fan of front mission 3, one of my favorite rpgs.  Since this is all third person shooter I might not be down.  But didn't seem that bad.

I loved Front Mission 3 to death on the PSX. Seeing this makes me think twice about ever buying a game from square again. What an aborted fetish of a product; a true abomination.

Question for developers: why would you put, in a 5 min boss battle, the same 3 lines of dialog that are spoken every 5 secs?

Those cockpits are too spacious.  Suspension of disbelief broken.  Game ruined.  :(

Just want to note to the people who like to complain about Japanese gaming in every thread...this isn't developed by a Japanese company, SE didn't develop it. 
 
Which is a shame, cause the FM games they DID make were awesome strategy games, not generic third person shooters.  I guess using the argument of people in this thread, that means American gaming sucks ass?  Oh wait, gross generalizations are stupid.

Yes, it's wanzer from 'wanderpanzer'.  

It's not terrible but very unpolished. There is very little detail to levels, on foot parts are terrible, the story is very plain and the action can get boring pretty fast. Also it's super short. The good thing is that it reminded me to download that fan translated FM 5 and it's great. If you liked 3 and hated 4 check out 5. It's some of the best mech turn based strategy out there.

I was always a big fan of the Front Mission games, and seeing this piece of garbage makes me really sad for this series. We already have such a struggle getting Front Mission games into the states to begin with, and now with this downright abomination it will be used as further evidence in some dark meeting room as to why they shouldn't bother making FM games or bringing them over for us anymore.
 
And this doesn't look like "bad Japanese developing" to me. This looks like something that the Japanese would make because they think the West would like this style and then it's doubly bad.

Also, is it me, or are quick looks shorter lately? Little saddening to see so many QLs under 20 minutes, more than I'm used to seeing, at least. Maybe it's just my imagination.

As to the game, it doesn't look bad per se, but it's not going to take the mantle of mech gaming from Armored Core.  SE needs to do a LOT more for this game to work.

Surprised to see a Quick Look for this.  Quick review:  the single player is cliched and kind of eh, the online is pretty good when you get some ranks and can actually find a match.

I was considering this for a bargain bin buy when the price dropped, but no I don't even think I'll even do that. I loved the Front Mission series as a tactical RPG, and the idea of a more action oriented Armored Core experience had me interested. But this seems dull as hell, and the boss battle was ridiculous.

The only thing I liked was the mech designs. I'm gonna go see if there's an art book for this.

I miss Chrome Hounds online play...

This game was SHORT and although it had it's moments, I'm glad I only rented. It's just not that great...

"Your wanzer is outdated" - is the boss telling you that your wanzer sucks ass and you need to upgrade it, which is why they were doing so little dammage.
 
As someone who has no appreciation for the Front Mission series having never played previous games, this robot action game is still kind of MEH.  I played this at release and it is super arcady and not a robot sim, but for an arcady robot shooter the action is avarage and on normal is a complete cakewalk. Part customization is kind of unbalanced, hover and quad legs being useless, lock on missles being OP, and instead of balancing torso parts and weapons you simply get more and more powerfull versions that look the same but are 2-10 times better as missions go on, but your enemies even tho look the same get tougher similarly. 
 
On foot parts suck.
 
Oh and PC version graphics are abysmal as are the controls. It's a bad port.
If you do get it at all get it on console.

Now imagine doing that with a fully built up edge bar since the AI tells you it's more effective, only to waste it all and not notice any effect at all. Maybe I should write a personal review for this game. "
