Some people see things like this as symptomatic of extensive systemic issues with our culture.

Personally, I think it's just a bad looking game that's in vaguely poor taste. But I probably would have bought Thrill Kill if it had ever come out, so what do I know?

I agree with people who keep saying this, but then it all breaks down when those people keep feeling the need to find targets to tear down. So what if games like this exist? Hell, there's comment a page or two into this comments section that accuses the lap-dancing of GTA V as being disturbing. Like, really? That's what people find unacceptable these days? That naked characters in games exist?

And the thing is, none of that invalidates the point about wanting more women in games and involved in making games, and wanting more female-centric stories! Nothing about these things conflict! The existence of one does not threaten the other!

The fucking mech walking through the background of one stage was clearly from MechWarrior!

It heartens me to know that Fighting Games have become relevant enough again to allow for Z-tier pandering garbage like this to exist. How long until a Way of the Warrior or Primal Rage reboot?

Oh right, and unlike every game in recent memory that is or is not sexist but the internet has to scrutinize it anyways, I can probably confirm that this game is sexist. Everyone wins! Except anyone who actually plays this game.

They couldn't stop at making a horrendous game (that looks like it belongs in bargain bin a decade ago.) They had to go ahead and take women, and instead of representing them as human beings, people, and making them embarrassingly lame, two dimensional cartoons of characters. Just about everything about this garbage is lazy as well.

Well at least the loading screen art looks like a ghetto-ass rendition of some Shin Megami Tensei art. That was mildly enjoyable I guess.

It's interesting from an anachronistic 3D fighting game back when that was the hot thing to make like Jeff said. It's gross from it being this female fighting exploitative thing. As a whole it's uncomfortable.

Also reminds me of the PS2 game Kinetica.

Modern Gamer logic:

Video game with girls = This game is hateful to women!
Video game without girls = This game is hateful to women!
Video game with some girls in but also some guys = This game is hateful to women!

(It's a terrible game but there's something about this that feels like I'm playing a Saturn demo disc and I'm okay with this)

This is a game for tits. It has a place in video games but its pretty bad....

The actual fighting didn't look as bad as I assumed it would, but considering the other amazing fighting games you can get on XBLA like KoF98/2k2 or Super Street Fighter 2 HD Turbo Remix, as if it wasn't obvious enough already, this seems like it's trying to appeal to a different crowd.

This seems like a game that would have a "twerk" button...

And thus, did my personal boycott of all-girl fighting games continue.

I feel that not naming this game Foxy Boxing is a gross oversight by the developers.

Fuck, man. I was totally indifferent to the premise of this game until after he beat the boss.

Just. . . Ugh. Fuck.

This could have been so much more. Shame it turned into a weird/generic fighting game route.

I actually like the music, besides that this game can burn.

This doesn't make me uncomfortable and I don't find it offensive. It just exists. To truly affect me, something has to have power. In my humble opinion, if something this ineffectual and unimportant upsets or offends you, you need to re-evaluate how outside sources influence your emotions.

I realize that some people actually gather self-worth from the reactions of others on message boards, but let's not pretend this is meaningful in any conceivable way. It will be long forgotten in a matter of months. The internet never ceases to amaze me. I may have too much investment in the hardships of real life to ever understand the reactions I'm seeing here.

I think this finally quantifies what I've felt was missing in the arguments about women in current games.

Alllow me to oversimplify, if I may.

Not all movies are oscar contenders. Time magazine and Maxim coexist. Why can't this game and, say, Heavy Rain coexist?

If anything, the problem is that depictions of women in games are pretty much *only* games like this. Granted it is getting better, (Remember Me, Assassin's Creed on the Vita) but it's still pretty terrible.

Let people have their video game version of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Nobody forces you to buy games you don't like, and as more people innovate and advance, games like this will be marginalized as they should be.

As blatant as this is about it's pandering, which is to say completely and without the slightest hint of shame and/or respect for itself and it's audience, the actual sexual content in the game isn't nearly as offensively body dimorphic as something like Dragon's Crown, Tera, Dead or Alive, or Code of Princess.

It might be time to take stock of our medium when a game that is explicitly all about titillation is less over the top in it's sexual content than games that claim not to be about that sort of thing.

That's not to give the makers of Girl Fight a pass, it's an indictment of everyone else.

Blugh, I'd like this game a lot more if the girls had tails and were furrier.
