Based on the comments I need to play some Bioshock 2 MP, I bought it last Christmas on Steam but haven't really played it at all. Not because I don't want to mind you, just haven't found the time.

Looks fun but the problem with these type of team based online shooters is that a month from now the lobbies will be empty and everyone will be back at TF2.

I'd stay far away from this on PC from what I've read. Lots of issues with matchmaking and FPS.

I honestly thought Microsoft had given up on that.

What's Wrong with GFWL?

That's a real bummer to hear. As soon as this QL was over I was about to alt tab to Steam to pick this up, but when I heard that all interest in the game went out the window. GFWL plus heavily microtransactioned is a no sale for me.

Honestly, this game would be so much better if it wasn't strapped with the Batman license. Lots more unique possibilities are possible I think and the licensing could have bogged it down in my opinion.

I play SSF4AE on the PC all the time, works fine, same with Arkham City, you guys don't know what you're talking about.

As for Gotham City Imposters, it looks fun but then again I have TF2 and I don't play much of that. Don't know if I'll be suddenly interested in online mp shooters again.

I really like the style of this game, although being a heavy multiplayer game likely to be empty in a few days is a big detriment...

Also, paying for faster leveling is absolute bullshit if the game isn't on a free-to-play model. Wow... Really money purchases all over this game. Go fuck yourself Warner Brothers. I'm not going to support this model with my wallet.

I can understand complaints about faster leveling (though most of the stuff appears to be side-grades, rather than explicit upgrades), but there's nothing inherently wrong with allowing people the option to buy their cosmetic unlocks; you can grind them out yourself if you want, just like in TF2, but if there's that one thing you want and don't have enough in-game credits, you can buy a shortcut. That seems fine.

Unless, as Brad hinted, there are things you can only buy with RealDollars. That would suck.

@TheBrainninja: Batman Arkham City and Fable III on Steam both still have GFWL. It kinda' sucks that there's still DRM services within DRM services (B:AC also has SecuROM activation on top of that), but to be honest I had forgotten that they had it in there until I double-checked.

Steam has a rule that you can only have a link within the game pointing to the Steam Store and the DLC must be available for that version, so they did update the games accordingly, but it's still microtransactions either way. One benefit you can maybe derive from this is that you at least now have a choice from whom you buy the DLC, since both stores work.

I know my experience has been anecdotal, and ultimately I would prefer to not be saddled with so many service, but in all honesty it has not been intrusive or detrimental to my experience. If I had problems with the games, it was Rocksteady's poor implementation of DX11 and Lionhead's terrible port job that needlessly taxes the system with a draw distance setting (Not to mention the game has muddy visuals to begin with).

All the micro transactions are a bit gross. I feel like the base game should be free if you're going down to micro transaction route.

It's £11.99 on Steam where TF2 and SMNC are right there for no money.

It looks cool but I know there will always be people playing the free ones.

Matchmaking is due to the low (at this point) playerbase. They are adding dedicated servers "soon" (but still using the matchmaking of course) so hopefully that will help out on PC here. The FPS issues are seemingly easily fixed if you go into the config file and change a simple setting at this point. Whether it's going to stick is another story. Also, the game doesn't use multicore cpu's very well and setting affinity is important also. Since it uses the FEAR engine (Lithtech Jupiter EX I assume) I would have figured by now it would be optimized for dual/quad core setups.

For a $15 game, this doesn't look too bad. And at that price point, I think the micro-transactions look a little less skeevy.

Though it's still kinda skeevy.

I don't care if it makes your computer blow up. As long as it gets me achievements for my XBL account I really don't care. Hell, the fact that an idiot like you dislikes it so much just gives me even more reason to support GFWL. Be mad, broseph.

$15 download on consoles /Steam is reasonable but considering the insane amount of mircotransaction DLC clashes with the price of admission to me. With the amount of DLC immediately available for this game, a free to play pricing model leveraged with mirsotransactions would be alot more appealing, right? Isn't that the way it should have gone? Super Monday Night Combat did it, TF2.....etc....
