If its just the HP boost then its not pay to win. HP stands for hawken points in this game, not hitpoints. Stupid, i know.

I love that this game receives the Jeff Gerstmann seal of approval. I personally won't touch it until they add controllers support. I also think its unfair to criticize a game of this quality as being pay to win.

Why would you want controller support when its essentially just a FPS in a mech shell.

I played computer games before there was a mouse. I use a mouse all day long at work and the last thing I want do when I get home is use a mouse. Until it has controller support, I will not play.

This has always bothered me....I don't know why free-to-play games carry such a stigma. People can enjoy F2P games for months without having to pay any money. Just like full-price games, the game only gets as good as the amount of time you invest in it.

It also seems that it's hard to find people who take F2P games seriously. Not many people seem to know about what's available out there. I mean, come on....Quake Live?!? No one cares about that game these days because there are much better, more modern F2P games out there.

In the end, I'm biased towards F2P games because I find games these days just a LITTLE too expensive (that's a tank of gas for me, or it's a week's worth of groceries for my household of two). I've been a gamer for as long as I could remember, and I have no intentions to quit, so I'm glad that F2P games are around....

As much as I love using my controller for games on PC there's no way in hell that I'm using it for multiplayer games especially first-person ones. I'm not going to let others easily hand me my ass cuz they using superior controls.
