@SAYNTofSYNNERS: Nintendo certainly wasn't in its platforming prime during the GameCube days, but to out and out say that Mario Sunshine was one of the "worst ever" in the genre is maybe a bit of a stretch. Certainly, it's not the common favorite amongst the main Mario games, but putting it in the company of games like Transformers: Mystery of Convoy, Cheetahmen II, and Ninjabread Man is a bit of a hard argument to make, at least in my opinion. More power to you if that's how much you dislike the game, but at the very least, I think there are a lot of games that put it to shame in terms of actual terribleness.

PS2 / Last gen had some of the best platformers ever and all on the PS2 , whilst NINTENDO released 1 of the worst platformers ever with MARIO SUNSHINE.

This gen we are back to the status quo with NINTENDO having the best platformer games again ( MARIO GALAXY 1,2 )

I wish SONY would get its act together and release the 4 PS2 RATCHET AND CLANK games in 1 of these HD collections, it was rumoured last year- but that became ALL-4-ONE . I mean we have the SLY trilogy series and now the J&D trilogy, come on SONY give us RATCHET

have u even played mario sunshine? i finished both jak and ratchet games (awesome both series) ....but as a pure platformer they dont come near sunshine ( hey but thats just my opinion )

Damn, Unkarted is a great name for an Uncharted kart racing game.

These Jak 3 character models almost look as nice as KoA: Reckoning.

You guys haven't done a Quick look Throwback in awhile. Now that you looked at all these, Brad and Vinny, you guys should take a look at the oft-overlooked sixth game in the series (after Jak X and Daxter), Jak & Daxter: Lost Frontier for PS2. Not developed by Naughty Dog (Insomniac's "little brother studio", High Impact, did it), but it's excellent nonetheless. They brought back a focus on purer platforming from the first game (though the weapons are still there), and introduced sky combat to the series. And it feels great - pretty much like the Xbox version of Crimson Skies. There's some cheap boss fights, annoying QTEs and some other regrettable design decisions, but it's another quality Jak game for sure (with a great story that starts off a new trilogy if Sony wants to pursue it). And unlike these three, it's one that is brand new to most fans. You guys should SERIOUSLY give it the Quick Look treatment. The PS2 version though, not the PSP version, with that stupid border you put up on your videos. I have a feeling even you guys don't know you already looked at the PSP version...

Initially, I was going to chide Brad for trying one of the most difficult missions in Jak 2, but then he failed the Jak 3 combat tutorial like six times and I realized it would probably be pointless.

they should have left it at it's time. This genre is dead and gone and could probably appeal to kids and new gamers. Looks boring as hell.

If this industry needs anything right now, it is more action adventure titles with stylized visuals, above all else. I would trade any gritty or modern shooter for a million colorful action platformers any day of the week.
