I'm not sure I'll buy this game anyway, but if they force you to control the camera with the sixaxis, well that's a deal breaker.

I was really frustrated playing the demo for Flower which is weird because people claim it's calming, this doesn't look that interesting to me. The art seems kind of cool, but the sand looks odd, there is a lot of brown, I wouldn't say it looks like a painting; Braid looked like a painting.  Also not being able to jump whenever seems kind of pointless.

Also it seems like the one cool thing about making bonds with people that you can't talk to has already been done in a game that kind of gets shit on by the Giantbomb staff, Demon's Souls. In a way isn't Demon's souls about the journey and discovery? Think about it.

I don't get it. What's supposed to look beatiful here? It's a bunch of sand. That's all I see. One colour, no music, no voice, little gameplay. I'm sorry, I'm yet to be convinced.

@BartWux: There was music. Apart from its atmosphere, I doubt it has much to reveal in a demo. Flower, too, wasn't the sort of game that was easy to get without playing to the end, if even then.

How dare video games be different, how dare they break out of the mold... Comments here prove all people want is the exact same game everytime and are scared of everything that is "interesting/new"

EXACTLY! We've heard them bitching against brown games for years and yet they're having mangasms over what is quite clearly the brownest game ever...(!) Their impression seems a little forced...

Anyway, I'm not against these kinds of games; I own Shadow of the Colossus (which reminds me: that destroyed bridge in the desert seems awful familiar...), and I'm not saying this game isn't interesting to play, but the hype these guys heap strikes me as rather disproportionate...

There is another play through of this on youtube where the player recording the video runs into another person. Despite myself, I got attached to the stranger as the two "talked" back and forth through the pings, played around and helped each other get glowing scarves. Then, the player's PSN connection suddenly cuts out and the stranger up and disappears. And I really felt this sad sense of loss and loneliness. Call me a bleeding heart or a loser or a dumbass, but the fact that it was able to keep pushing that feeling of isolation is just awesome.

Absolutely cannot wait for this one.

@Damian: I'm glad someone voiced an opinion of mine about Jeff without me having to. He's a cool guy and all, but goddamn it, open up a little bit.

As other people have already said this game is no different from other multiplayer adventure games go play Myst Uru if you can't wait for this game.

It's amazing how many journey references brad slipped into this quick look. Even the sidebar comment has two of them!

There is no Myst Uru now. Only fan run servers running open source code.

The online portion of Uru was not very good. They opened up very little by the way of new areas, and tried to do this "online acting" thing, with paid people playing in-game npc characters, that did not work out well at all. Add to that the jerky nerdier then thou fan community, and you had a failed project.

Journey doesn't seem like it's going to go that way.

I know it's no longer okay to consider any videogames art, that if you dare think anything of the sort you're some kind of self-absorbed wanker etc. But I'm glad there's now someone else at Giant Bomb that can sit in with Brad on Quick Looks at games like this and appreciate them.

I feel the same way. Klepek has a lot of interesting views on games and seems to enjoy the more cerebral and artistic aspects of design. It's really good to be able to listen to someone that can articulate well thought out, intellectual views that can be so different from those of most videogame players/journalists. He's an especially good balance on the site for someone like Jeff who's opinions on games seem to stem from a much more arcade "game" point of view. (Neither of them are right or wrong, just saying it's good they have someone with those opinions now who can express them well).

I think that this game is very striking, and it's elements add up to beauty for me. The lighting, the landscape, the isolation, the minimalist approach, the way it all comes together. Where you see nothing, I see something that I find to be rather remarkable. Not that you're wrong for not seeing what I do, we're just seeing it differently.

Sounds a little weird, but I'm getting a serious Dark Souls vibe from this.
