I kiiiiiiinda do. I really really enjoyed my time with Killzone 2. It's one of the very very few shooters that I even loved playing online. That being said, I still haven't played Killzone 3. Maybe I'm just bored with shooters though. The idea of Killzone 4 as a PS4 launch game is kind of appealing.

It might not look like much now, but the thing that I remember really crippling Killzone was how the graphics pushed the PS2 to it's limits. It got to the point that this game just murdered the framerate in certain parts because the PS2 was struggling to run it. There was a night vision scope in the game that made the game unplayable whenever you used it. So at the very least, this might be a better running version of the game.

Seems this collection is just for people who don't have any of the killzone games & want them. Anyone else can probably skip it.

Killzone 2 was the best. Ended up selling it though because the MP just wasn't active anymore. Only one server with people usually and it was Radac Academy 24/7. Great map, but I liked all the maps in Killzone 2. Killzone 3 just didn't have good maps imo.

Wonder if this release will bring people back to KZ2.

@alibson: Nice to see this though is it just me or does Brad sound like he's reading off a teleprompter. That or Killzone1 just sucked all the personality & energy out of Brad when he recorded this.

Oh me...the 2nd one is the best MP shooter on PS3 if you ask me. I'm looking forward to seeing what Killzone Mercenaries on Vita will be like. Graphically it looked nice. Just wonder how it plays.

Did anyone ever care? Even at the height of the Killzone 2 hype I thought the series' aesthetic and gameplay looked clunky and uninspiring.

I never really liked Killzone 1. I thought the controls were terrible, you moved a bit to slow and the grey colored environments quickly became very boring to look at.

I remember before killzone 1 the official Playstation magazine here in the UK had a story in every episode for about a year and i was super hyped

I loved this game and had so much fun with it, until my taste for games was ruined by the journalists

This game made a huge hit on the PS2, bad gameplay with a bad framerate!

and Jeff is kind of unfairly assuming all shooter AI was bad at the time, Killzone was just a shit game.

All of his reviews were like that back then. In the ones where he has a full beard and those glasses he's barely recognizable. It just took him a while to get used to being on camera, I think. There also might have been a teleprompter. Who knows?

I feel like, in all of their talk about modern versus pre-modern shooters, they may be overestimating how old this game is. Not even two weeks after Killzone hit shelves in the US, Half-Life 2 as well as Halo 2 were released. Doom 3 had been out since August and Far Cry since March. The console front already had some quality first person games. Riddick came out in June 2004. Rainbow Six 3 came out in October 2003. Black didn't come out until early 2006, after "next-gen" games like F.E.A.R. and Call of Duty 2 had been out for months. I'd say Killzone was far from representative of what first-person games of the time could offer. It was more representative of the run-of-the-mill crap of the time, albeit with some good artwork.
