Quick Look: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

wasn't quite sold on it before...but now I am. Shit, now I need to buy another point card, GAH!

This looks surprisingly good. Unlike Castlevania HD.

Not really a Tomb Raider fan, but this looks pretty neat.

More than anything, this just makes me want an isometric action RPG. I've never really liked Tomb Raider.

Watching this Quick Look, I really regret buying Limbo. This game actually seems good.

          Totec can change his weapons too. And there's over 30 different kinds of guns. The mini-guns are particularly awesome.   The online co-op will be launched for 360 on the 28th of September but obviously local co-op is in there from the start.   Hope that helps.  "

Good idea to show the differences when playing by yourself. I think they could of made it so that Totec was AI controlled and you could press a button to swap between characters though.

This looks like the only game I'll be buying from the summer of arcade.

aww I wanted to hear kessler cause today is his last day QQ. Also the game looks pretty good I was really skeptical about it seeing it I realize it's pretty cool.

The Co-op looks pretty cool in this game. I'll have to wait for the PSN release though since I don't have a 360

Man I hoped for some Kessler.

Wow, did not expect this to be this good.

This looks like it would be a lot of fun co-op.  Looks pretty good for an XBLA title, too.

So the video was real, I'm glad I'm not going crazy and making up quick looks in my head.

Looks ok, but incredibly EASY...
 
And you know something  I kinda noticed as of late, Ryan kinda digs that, it seems he doesn't much care for challenge in his games, in fact in this weeks podcast  they were discussing Kane and Lynch 2's length, and at one point Ryan said he had finished it in like 5 hours or something like that on Easy, then Brad asked, "but why did you played on easy", and the response was, "Because there is no difference in achievements"....
 
Seriously do you guys play the games to be challenged and  entertained in the process or do you play to get useless achievements?
 
Not criticizing Ryan or anything, actually he as the rest of the team are a perfect example of the mainstream, I started to notice that last year when none of the guys seemed to like Demons Souls, actually most of them wrote it off immediately....
 
And that is a trend that is worrying me so much, games are getting easier and easier, untill we get to a point that people would have been acostumed to that ease so much that if you try and push a real challenging game on them they won't even consider it.
 
Like on this very quicklook Ryan says something about how he liked that this game was very much more streamlined, that you wouldn't have an hour long puzzle  and instead these quick easy levels, and then he tried to justify that by "oh and then you can like get achievements by completing them in under 5 minutes".... come on is that what it has come to? the mere fact that a level can be finished in under 5 minutes says to me that it's a no brainer kind off experience, I prefer the hours long puzzles myself....
 
I once read an article somewhere discussing this very thing, and the guy made a good point saying that back in the day good games tended to present gamers with more complex mechanics, kind off preparing them for more hardcore titles, he actually gave some good examples unfortunetely I don't quite remember them, but the thing is that the exact opposite is happening nowadays...

This is the third game in a row for me that has it that way. Come on, it's 2010!

This looks to be a pretty good co-op, shame about the lack of online mp for the moment.
