I haven't bought a Madden game in years, but this really gave me the urge to get back in. Might actually buy it this year.

I'm constantly amazed how I have absolutely no idea what is going on in an American Football game.

Usually enjoy these, but the game looks good enough this year that their undisguised derision wasn't working for me.

What's wrong with the crowd, are they all just cardboard cutouts again? I feel like they had a better crowd last year....

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Everything, the art, animations, UI, just looks uglier and jankier than last year's game. This must be some B team or outsourced people working on this one.

Something her seems kind of off, possibly the players and definitely the crowd. Also this hair is nowhere near Triple H levels.

@jeff@vinny After choosing your play in gameplan, you can preview your play before snapping the ball. Probably not the smartest thing to do in 2 player games cause your giving your play away to your opponents, but it makes single player games faster to go through.

Not a football fan but I'd love if they implemented that owner mode into the NHL games. The GM stuff is alright but I want to adjust soda prices and move teams too!

Also it was fantastic when both his QBs went down in a row. And I agree with Jeff, there's something especially weird and dull and lifeless about this year. No one sounds or looks like they care and it's weridly surreal

I miss the days when sports games were a competitive market, 2005 was the last year NFL games tried were actively trying to add new features that made buying the new version worth the entry price of $60.

Madden has been total garbage this generation with hardly any improvements made between this year and the first years (06-07)

I'd say this is almost certainly true. The current gen games might be out first (for obvious reasons), but I'd be willing to bet most of the work was put into the next-gen versions that'll be out later in the year. They spent a whole lot of time during the Xbox One reveal talking up their big IGNITE engine for their next-gen sports games, whatever the hell that is. I'm sure the current gen stuff got a serious short shrift this year.
