There was a time that I found all Ryan's QL's to be downers but he got over that hump. Brad might just be going through a phase. Anyways, game doesn't interest me at all for many reasons.

Bah.. it seems like unless Blizzard has stirred it with their cock Brad won't drink it. Kinda pisses me off. At least Vinny gives each game it's fair shot.

Just beat this game last night and gotta say, I love how Brad has clearly not played long enough to know what a finish attack is, yet still makes broad sweeping generalizations about the game. I thought that's the kind of shit GB is supposed to shield us from?

This game really really needs the ability to switch to the Japanese audio track and just read the subtitles.

If you honestly care about graphics, you are a cancer on the gaming community and don't belong on this website. This looks fantastic, charming, and beautiful. I will definitely ask for this for christmas, as bland, brown, first person games don't do anything for me anymore.

Is it just me, or is Brad starting to become just as jaded as Jeff and Ryan? Right off the bat he's making tons of negative assumtions about a game he's barely even started to get into. I think this game seems pretty interesting and promising from what I've seen here.

he talks shit about every game that he can't play just because he isn't good at the game, or doesn't try to learn the buttons or controls doesn't mean the game sucks. 
i don't see how the brad lovers defend anything in this quick look.

This game actually looks pretty cool.

Just finished the Quick-Look, I actually want to buy this game now.

I can't finish watching this video because all I hear is complaining about things that are perfectly fine. I thought someone was supposed to have an unbiased view for all games, even if they are shit.
 
The game looks pretty good and has charm. And perhaps, just perhaps you should learn about the game and its mechanics before you start knocking it.

I really appreciated this game in terms of how it seemed like it fell out of the past.  The spotty voice quality (at least it's of the 'too hammy' rather than 'too wooden' variety), the aged graphics, the rather simple plot... it just brought me back to the first time I played Banjo Kazooie or Ocarina of Time.  Vinny nailed the 'PS2'ness of the game, and also that it has a sort of charm.
 
I don't know why Brad is being such a complete downer about it.  It is in a lot of ways, a sort of budget take on Enslaved, which Brad claimed to enjoy.  He ignores half of what happens on screen, and then seems to get agitated when he can't figure out what's going on.  Of course, it's a Quick Look, and you can't necessarily play the games the way you would if you weren't presenting a feature, so maybe I'm being too harsh.
 
I played until I got the second power, and it's totally acceptable.  It has some decent level designs, and a few decent puzzles.  I think Brad's right, I think it's a game that would be very appropriate for an 8-12 year old, but there's nothing terrible about it.

I swear, the Giant Bomb staff could say the sky was blue and half the comments in the article would be screeching about how green the sky looks that day.

I'm ok with Brad not loving this game.  It's not his thing, then it's not his thing.
 
But it is continuing a trend of a seeming boredom in the quicklooks.  If you go way back, there were plenty of times the guys didn't like the games they were showing.  But at least they were into it.  Lately (not every time mind you, but more and more often) we're seeing the guys just going through the motions without really seeming invested.  Even Jeff and Ryan on GT5 (a huge HUGE AAA game six years or so in development) sounded, well, bored.  Were they actually bored? Maybe they were, maybe they weren't.  But the point is they came across that way.  Sure, there were parts (as there were in this one) where they got into it for a few minutes, but overall...
 
I understand that it's their job, and sometimes jobs can get tedious, and you find motivation lacking.  But still, it's their JOB.  Their profession, and it'd be nice to see them a little more focused instead of just mailing it in on games they don't have a personal emotional stake in.
 
The only one of the "big four" I've really noticed that's just about always ready to go is Vinny.  Sure, there have been games he doesn't like.  But he's almost always invested anyway.  If he's got a problem, he talks about it (usually in a humorous way) instead of just sort of sighing "I don't know..." and then following with 15 seconds of dead air.  Even when the game sucks, and you have no intention of purchasing it for yourself, with Vinny, at least it's still entertaining to watch the playthrough.   You know the way it used to be all the time, with all the guys.
 
Hopefully it's just a rut.  Sort of a seven year itch come early.  Cause lately, I'm kinda missing the old days.
