Oh, Mass Effect. You were so good once. Where did it all go wrong?

To be fair, Mass Effect DLC has always been inconsistent. ME2 had some real garbage.

Never understood people that play with default character models instead of customizing it. Thats like my favorite part of any RPG or game in general.

Yeah but in Mass Effect the default is an actual model in real life and the ones you create look so much uglier and worse in every way.

Then you are bad at making characters in that game. I love my custom femshep and she looks way better then the shitty default one. While I never tried with the guy model I have seen some photos of bad ass looking guy characters on various forums over the years.

To each his own I guess - I just love cutomizing. In Saints Row: The Third I spent SO much unnecessary time going from shop to shop. In Mass Effect 1 I made my FemShep look like my girlfriend and showed her as a novelty sorta thing. Well I beat the game like three times with that character and not surprisingly by the time the second game rolled around, I wasn't seeing that girl anymore. I wasn't going to make a whole new character though! So here I was still somewhat heart broken, starring at my ex constantly as I blast aliens into space. In a way it was a great tool for moving on. It's that sort of stuff that makes the game a personal experience I think.

Normally I'd agree. In Mass Effect I stuck with default Shepard, but my DA:O and DA:II characters looked shockingly good.

Femshep is not the same as the real one. You're right in that the default femshep always looks terrible, so it's pretty easy to improve on it. The male version is a different story, though. Being based on a real person makes it pretty much impossible to top. There are man good custom male Shepards out there, I had one for ME1 myself, but they always have a faker look to them than the default.

@Bane122: To each their own. I hate the default male Shepard though. Something about his looks just scream douchbag to me and I can't like him as a character.

@crusader8463: I love the default male but honestly I understand the d-bag comment. I don't agree with it but I can see why someone would say that. Perhaps it's shallow to say but it's not much of a stretch from European model to douche.

No no I made my own Femshep, but with the Male character I went with the default. The default femshep is not so hot, except in ME3 she was slightly improved.

I haven't bought any of the DLC for this game and I have not played it in a while but it look like I may need to go back anr run through all this stuff. Looks great!

Exactly... The game IS good. It's always weird how Jeff says that the game is bad even before the ending. It's brilliant before the ending, and even the bad parts of the ending have been improved by the DLC.

So, listening to Aira T'loak saying "Tell your boss I'm coming" - I have to say that there isn't quite the level of pissed off that the line needs, IMHO. In context, it feels like something like the female equivalent of Terence Stamp screaming "You tell'em I'm coming" in The Limey.

Mas Effect 2: "Where did I go right?" ^^

But seriously, I sympathize with your feelings on the series and I would say that the failure was a culmination of a lot of smaller parts just imploding the whole at the end of the while trilogy.

@BabelTower: Yeah I know. I'm not angry, or nerdraging or anything. Just sad and disappointed that the ball was dropped. And to clarify: I didn't even get to the end of ME3. I got to London, was trudging through it, and saved to go do something else. A day or two later I returned to finish it off, and realised I didn't want to play anymore because I just wasn't having fun anymore so I uninstalled it. Some have said this was the best thing I could've done, because I didn't quite get to the end :)

After having just played this and Leviathan, whilst playing the campaign for the first time, I have to agree with Brad's sentiments; I really enjoyed these but if I had come to them after the fact, I feel like I would have had an inferior experience.

Oh right...Citadel and Leviathan weren't the only DLCs...
