Man I really hate a white sheet of paper. Nothing on it, no clear goals, and so limiting. I can't fucking even draw outside the paper, because it wont stick on the paper. Sure, I can see why some idiots might like it, but whats up with this mass hysteria? And what the hell am I gonna do with this ugly ass drawing I just made? Just let it sit there and look at it? I knew something seemed off. That looks like barely half the depth of the PC version. Heck, those diamonds were pretty damn close to the surface.

I'm guessing it's purely system limitations. Despite the graphics, Minecraft is a deceptively processor-intensive game. Probably can't "render" that many "blocks" at once due to ram limitations or something.

I could watch Brad's Minecraft avatar react to stuff all day.

I haven't really tried out Minecraft. Can I play the PC-version without all the monsters, or just be invincible? I just want to build stuff.

This first look was painful, like watching 2 dads play a video game for the first time and make confused comments throughout.

@RedJimi: The Kinect features are still coming apparently, but they were delayed for the launch so they could get the game out.

Wasn't the DLC section how Minecraft was going to be applying updates without having to go through the certification process that has to be applied to normal game patches?

They kinda change the website a lot so I don't really get why changing the video player is a big deal.

It's not a huge deal, at least not to me, but it's a drag that general conveniences once taken for granted are now gone, like hitting the spacebar to pause and unpause videos. Also, at least on my end, you can't jump directly to a further point in the video unless it's been buffered to that point, which is pretty crappy. This isn't some doomsday event like some make it out to be (and honestly almost any change with impact on a website or game causes outbursts of that nature), but it's still a bummer nonetheless.

e: And to clarify so no one gets all riled up unnecessarily, none of the quoted text above my post rises to the level of doomsayer status.

It seems like the XBL version is holding your hand while you create / craft your world. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing - as it's incredibly helpful to new players - but it takes away the thrill of finding new recipes / creations.

Oh yeah? Well my stock PC is like 6 years old and while it may be able to run the rudimentary art assets just fine I doubt my limited processing speed can stream the huge world in without crashing or lagging. And it's not like I have friends who game on PCs frequently. Your suggestion for PC gamers to stick with their version is a sound one, but I'll probably get this version just so I can build weird shit for my niece to look at.

Yeah, you can. There's even mods that give you handy building features - like unlimited resources of every brick, advanced maps, better textures, flying etc.

wow zaxex, you should probably think before you post, but yes i concur minecraft is fun.

@outerabiz: My bad lol. Sarcasm isn't always as apparent in text form. I'll stick to just responding to comments like "This game sux", at least then I'll argue with people who disagree with me ^^.

Very interesting to see the GB crew slowly coming around on Minecraft after all this time.
