I was watching this on my PS4 and I had no black border. My TV's old, though. The Xbox One calibration thing has it as the minimum screen space.

MLB: The Show was the biggest reason I got a PS4 over an Xbox One. I have a serious addiction to these games.

Realism is the worst thing to happen to sports games.

I kind of agree, although I wouldn't say it like that.

These sports Quick Looks are still funny and worth watching for the most part, but ever since last year, I'm kind of getting tired of the usual "fairly technical game I have zero interest in turns out to be kind of boring to me after 20 minutes."

I mean, yeah?

I used to be intimidated with JRPGs when I was younger and avoided them for years, but I eventually took the time to learn the mechanics and terms and I have enough pre-existing knowledge to know what to do for the most part when I play a new one.

I'm all for making fun of the animations, voice-overs, menus, and dated graphics, but tend to check out lately when Jeff complains about a game not being the way he wishes it to be, even though it never had any intention to please people like him. Sometimes he acknowledge that fact; sometimes he doesn't. It just becomes draining to roughly have the same conversation during every sports game Quick Look.

It also doesn't help when they play A's vs Mets at Shea for the second year in a row. I know why, but still.

Yup. Simulation versus Arcade. I understand that Jeff likes the instant gratification type of games now, and that's fine... but some people like realism in sports games. Not everything can be RBI baseball.

As always, I really like the Giant Bomb Sporting Club. I buy each sports game like one a generation usually on their best release, or what is at that time. Giantbomb basically just shows a very basic demoing of e and they also have great commentary! MLB the show is the only sports game that I bought twice this gen, I think I have 07 or 08 and '11, and '11 actually has that black border too if in 1080P too.

Jeff's view on sports games is so crazy to me. You don't ever want those games to get more complex than one or two buttons? I mean sure, there's probably a place for a game like that, but it's not these games.

Anyone else notice the tweet in there about a missing dog named Duder? I almost feel obligated to help search.
