Monopoly... a game for men.

Monopoly was fun when I was around 8.

Quick question:
 
Has anyone actually played a game of Monopoly through to the very end?

I saw no Ice T at all. Those aren't streets. Those are perfect walkways.

Why do Baltic and Mediterranean look brown? Aren't they normally a  lush purple?

This made me remember Monopoly Tycoon, that game was awesome.

Weird audio

Some week for TNT/whatever, the GB crew has to get a real Monopoly board and play.  I would totally watch that.

I would have expected Ryan to like being the boot because then you could think you are traveling around in Kuribo's Shoe.

Fuckin' Monopoly.. eventually someone will rage out and either flip the board over, or just give all their stuff to someone. Both scenarios ruining the game for the other people.
 
Some good banter in this quick look. I highly enjoyed it. 
 
Ironic that it is more fun talking about monopoly than actually playing it.

Now I want a QL (or an ENDURANCE RUN AMIRITE) of regular-ass board game monopoly.

The streets part still looks kind of weird and the animations will probably start pissing you off at some point :D

I'm with Vinny. Why was the first set of properties colored brown instead of purple?

The boot is the most glorious Monopoly piece besides the top hat. Everyone knows this ;)
Cool QL! Alex, you (and sometimes Rorie too) seem to do a whole lot on GB lately. Just something I noticed, but I very much enjoy the videos and reviews you guys do.

I want to play Monopoly now.

was this recorded on the street? wow, that audio was bad.

I remember the PC game of Star wars Monopoly from when I was a kid. That was kinda cool. Never totally liked board games all that much though.

Anyone else think of that scene in Boondock Saints when Ryan said "symbology" instead of symbolism? Or am I just a grammar nut?

I... I for some reason want this game now. 
Then again, I'm a fiend for board games.  Especially Monopoly.

I could see all this mere eye-candy as a case of the devs afraid to make too big a change to the classic Monopoly concept, or perhaps being too controlled by the original license holders.

EA's last Monopoly game got bad reviews for having no custom rules, which probably explains why there's so many custom options in this one.

I keep wanting (because I'm a pessimist) to think that Alex is doing too much for Giant Bomb and not enough for Screened...except that he does tons over at Screened...so I guess he's just a workaholic (though I suppose that's a perk of doing what you love for a living: it's easy to put in extra time).

Hasbro owns Parker Brothers and  Milton Bradly. So it is not a licencing thing, because they are the same company :P 
 
In fact. If you play a board game, or even table top game, it was probably made by Hasbro.
