Quick Look: Mount & Blade: Warband

Dude, my M&B:Warband looks a lot better than this. Dave must not have all of the settings on.

Also, having multiple shields really helps since your shield can BREAK.

 you could get battlesizer mod that allow up to 1000 troops for each battle. I had mine at 600 because that's all my pc could handle.  The guy on this video play in very easy mode.  You could make it hard in option setting and that will make you pluck your hair out, you'll get kill in 1 or 2 shots or hit..  And you could get companion NPCs and capture cities and get married and promote your companion into lords and give them town and villages and armies.   And tournaments that offer reknown (popularity) and money ...etc, I've been playing this game since 2005 and never get bored of it. I come back and replay the game and it always something new. There are thousand of mods out there and each of them is a different game. Some mod allow you to use gun. and boats.  Give it a shot. 

You're making the same mistake I made when I first started the game, Vinny. The timing to attack with polearms seems hard because you're not supposed to use them like that! Hahaha... if you're mounted, all you have to do is have any sort of lance weapon equipped and move your horse to close to full speed. Your character will automatically tuck the lance under his arm. This is called a  "couched lance". If you then smash into an enemy with the tip of that lance it will rip them in half for way more damage than a normal hit would do. I'm talking like 2 or 3 times normal damage, it's crazy and awesome. You don't even have to slow down, you can just plow throw a crowd of enemies like this. Take down their horses in one shot if their unarmored, even.

if this game had better graphics i bet a bunch more people would buy it.  all it needs is some HDR and a couple shaders and it would look pretty good

Couple of corrections, in case anyone still cares.
 
1) You never die in this game, and there isn't a game over. You can lose battles, and be captured/held hostage, but you never truly lose. The only way you'll ever lose the game is by deleting the save.
 
2) The game doesn't look great, but it doesn't look nearly as bad as it does in this quick look. In fact, it looks pretty decent this time around. Look at your settings guys.
 
3) Cities do not look barren. He was in a castle... a place owned by a Lord and occupied by soldiers. The real cities are bustling with life, albeit fairly stiff looking life. 
 
4) Pick up your loot, Vinny, haha. That's all great money that you're wasting. 10, 20, 30 gold may not seem like a lot, but you'll never get anywhere if you don't pick up loot.
 
Sorry, I don't mean to be 'that guy', but after you've sunk as much time into a series as I have (Well over.... I don't even know. I think it has to be approaching a millenia of hours.), you grind your teeth at watching journalists that are new at the game give misinformation. There were a few other little tidbits, but eh, not worth it. Again, great to see this out in public view a bit more, and I know how these are done, it's just hard seeing a game you're beyond passionate about be poked and prodded on the internet.

I've got to admit I have never really looked into this game, but this looks awesome to me. Going to have to try it some time.

For any of you put off by the graphics - don't be. The gameplay and mod community more than make up for it. In addition they had their settings way low, with its proper settings it looks at least as good as Source engine games.

This game is insane!  Just did a 200 vs 200 battle, on my laptop.  It was at like 13 fps, and as the battle went on, and people died, the fps went up and up haha.  Right now I'm at 60 fps, and all my dudes are cheering because we won.  In normal smaller battles, fps is totally smooth.

Holy. Fucking. shit. You just did a quicklook of Mount&Blade. I think I may be hyperventilating. You rock. Even if you aren't very good at the game yet. :P

Those trees still look better than Deadly Premonition's.

This game looks awesome.

The multiplayer looks kinda fun.

When the army popped against that set of sea raiders for the first time I was like "holy crap, that is a straight up battalion."
 
This is a game I will probably never play just due to the sheer depth of it (picking up a game where I will be guaranteed to play for hundreds of hours isn't exactly a random decision), but I love that it just plain exists. I honestly would love to see more Quick Looks of this, or a mini-Endurance Run. This video was honestly very entertaining.

Strangely compelling. I may just have to put this in my Steam cart.

Noobschool, Conan didn't even loot his fallen foes, hence why you have a crappy spear at that level and not a mighty lance and a chainmaille clad warhorse. Like me!

I wonder why people insist on saying that Vinny isn't playing the game correctly, when he's not even playing the game at all. Anyways, water under the bridge by now. I still want to check this game out but alas, my computer.

So much info in this video that is wrong .. Fun to watch though, but please play/research the game more.

Why didn't they ever use first person?It helps a lot more in combat.

if you want to play this game, download the floris mod. makes the game about a thousand times better in every way. you'll never go back to the pretty good, unique, but very flawed vanilla game.

I think these QL's sold a copy of this game. Which one I'll have to investigate, but these look like my kind of punishing.

I don't think I ever saw this Quick Look despite putting over 30 hours into the game myself a couple years later.

This is such a classic quick look (full of action, well prepared and executed etc.) and who knew, PC games would have the last laugh looking at what games the crew is covering nowadays.

i forgot that dave doesn't bother to pick up any of the loot in this video lol. aaaaaa
