While I may never play a Wii U, I think it's going to be great for getting all the guys on the couch together for quick looks. Laughter abounds.

Thank you, Giant Bomb, for calling out Nintendo and the WiiU for all their issues. Now I feel very good about specifically not buying this stuff. Now just make sure to do the same with the other console makers when they release theirs and I'll love you forever. <3

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

You guys are killing me, because there is no way I'm ever going to get a Wii U with New Super Mario Bros. U! I have to sit back on the side lines like many other games I can't play, and just watch this Quick Look and other walkthroughs. When it comes to something that I really REALLY want, it really gets freaking hard knowing that my journey with games ends with last gen. I hate growing up right at this very moment. Everything in my little personal world (money and life) is hindering me and stopping me from purchasing it all right now! Even if I get enough money, I don't know if it'll be enough to say that I'll ever be able to enjoy any game fully as I won't ever have time.

I'm going to shut up now, and sit here and be extremely jealous of all the people who got a WiiU today. It's not in my nature to be jealous, but I'll get over it eventually... because I have to. Today is a sad day for me.

I've yet to watch this quick look because I'm hoping for a master cut where all "Wah"'s are dubbed over with Jeff's "Wah"'s... (oh and also because I just woke up and just started downloading it... but mostly it's the wah thing)

I don't like that they're still using 2 color-swapped Toads as P3 and P4. They should have another distinct character. I think a Toad handmaiden would be neat. A cute lady-Toad who hangs out with the Princess and helps get her into poofy pink dresses.

Snake Block Tower is some straight up Battletoads shit. That looks awesome.

Also, I love any Quick Look where the Giant Bomb team has to... "cooperate" because they're the best at it. They're number 1 at working together in an orderly fashion. Heh heh heh.

Nintendo has really fucked up this whole controller thing. Not letting people just jump in with Wii remotes, and not even supporting their pro controller is probably the stupidest thing a company has ever done with new hardware.

Edit: Also, as these guys have said, I think achievements would have actually made this game fun. It just gives you something to aim for while you're playing the game.

I enjoyed the original New Super Mario Bros Quick Look nearly more than the game itself. High hopes going into this one then.

Yeah, the lives are meaningless. The coins are, too, but no one talks about those.

Any multiplayer playthrough of the wii one, most everyone gets 20-25 continues at the end, because everyone dies all the time.

I was a big fan of the wah-wah in the DS NSMB back in 2006. I even liked the dancing because it was like what I already did in Mario games by ducking to the music. I felt like it was a clever, aware thing of Nintendo.

Now it's just gotten out of control.

I don't condone Yoshi genocide.

I may end up getting one these things for the family for Christmas, but the fact that the Pro-controller isn't universally compatible with everything is a huge bummer. It is also mind-boggling why a 1st-party game doesn't support the super controller when you are with friends. That seems like a huge over-sight and doesn't make me feel confident in Nintendo.

However, the very fact that the over world is reminiscent of Super Mario World is nearly a system seller for me. Stupid, I know, but oh well.

I think the music is kinda adorable, though I can see it being slightly overused considering it's been part of .. 3 NSMB games by now? But I could see it kinda being a signature for the NSMB series kinda like the dumb chuggachugga guitar riff thing when you rank up in Call of Duty is one of it's signature sounds, or the Tristram like guitar stuff they kept doing in Diablo even after Uelmen left Blizzard. I would certainly prefer it if they tried to do something new with the music, rather than keeping on doing the same thing they've been doing since 2006, but it's not nearly the worst offender at unimaginative music I can think of.

Surprised that they're complaining about the save system. It's just a design choice. It's not like the game is worse for it.

So do we need a page on the site about Wah-wahs? I mean they do use it pretty much for EVERY level in this game.

I guess Miyamoto has a cyclobalanopsis oak growing in his yard from this.

It's weird how you can still see the polygon edges on the player's hats. They should have new models with smooth edges.

Not quite as funny as the New Super Mario Bros. Wii Quick Look, but still very funny. The game looks fun!

Played this a while back and the constant time stopping makes coop probably the worst thing ever. I couldn't even finish a level without bumping into enemies in midair because another player died or got a mushroom.

You guys are missing out if you aren't using transcribed subtitles on youtube.
