Quick Look: NHL 13

Big Jeffery and Vinny are back in business. They make hockey fun... almost as fun as roller coasters

Hearing Vinny go "FUCKIN SCUDERI!" really gave me flashbacks. Rob Scuderi use to play for the Penguins, i'd spend a lot of time yelling that exach phrase at the television.

This video combines three of my favourite things:

1. Hockey.

2. People who don't know much about hockey talking about hockey.

3. Jeff/Vinny Quick Looks of sports games.

This was crazy entertaining I want more Vinny vs. Jeff sports matches of game and stuff.

NHL Hitz 2002 is by far the best hockey game. You could play as giant bats with guillotines for skates underwater while it's snowing.

As a Blue Jackets fan they might as well be a fake team.

I love these "Quick Looks" of sports games. I love how they just play and when things are getting slow and boring, they try and break the game as much as possible. Keep it up!

Wow that was the best QL in an age, Jeff and Vinny enjoying a game!. No Brad whining, no Ryan getting angry and no partick verbal diarrhea.

Watching this today made me remember one hockey game from many years ago(around 20). I don't remember its name, nor platform it was made on, the only thing I do remember is you could chose from around couple of teams, every team had its own powershots, like girls could change ball into teddy bear, which would bump every player on its way to goal, other one could shot really fast one. If someone knows what's the name of the game I appreciate for an answer.

Watching Jeff and Vinny struggle to figure out hockey is amazing.

As a hockey fan, this was very entertaining to watch. Also it was fun to see how intense Jeff and Vinny got when they started getting a hang of the controls.

"The Columbus Blue Jackets? Did they sneak a fake team in there?" Guuuuuys!

There needs to be an endurance run where Jeff and Vinny play an entire season of a sports game.

Don't know anything about hockey and the only hockey game I ever owned was Powerplay Hockey on the Saturn, which was awesome. I did once play NHL two-thousand-whatever against a guy who owned it, while I was coming to it cold, and beat that guy like 20-0. So like I feel like I have an uncultivated synergy with the whole hockey vidjagame thing. Now if EA were to release this on PC I might even do what I never do, which is give them some of my money.

I love Jeff and Vinny on sports, but sadly this was no Madden. Cuz, you know, this time the game is actually pretty good. I hope we see QLs for The Show and FIFA in future years too

Well seeing as it looks like there may be no NHL season this year this is the next best thing.

I usually ignore it but come on Jeff.... Don't spend the entire time complaining about how "NHL 94 controls" doesn't turn the game into NHL 94.

It is just an easy mode control scheme.

NHL 13 is extremely impressive, much better than last year it looks like.

They really had to write "Advance to Gameplay" instead of "Play"? The menus in these games..

As a big hockey fan, I have to say this QL is fucking amazing. Loving it. Game looks pretty good, too.

How do you not know who the Stars are! They were a feature in NHL 94, king of hockey games!

Not even Giant Bomb can give Columbus a break, but they really are that terrible.

Between this and the Madden Quick Look, sports game Quick Looks are becoming the new home of funny-time on Giant Bomb. Surprisingly great!

I just kept yelling "VINNY! PASS THE FUCKING PUCK!" at my screen, haha. Great QL.

This is why I love Vinny, he goes from acting like he's ready to take down Jeff in the second game to happily picking the worst team against the best team and being completely ok with it.
