Quick Look: Of Orcs and Men

Kinda crazy that rain effects still look pretty terrible in 3D games. This looked a bit better than most, but really, Timeshift did the best rain I've seen yet in a game 5 years ago, where the rain drops actually interact with the environment instead of just disappearing into the ground (or worse, clipping through roofs, like in Skyrim and Singularity).

This looked terrible, the way every surface is flowing with water is ridiculous. I'd rather have purely cosmetic rain effects that have no effect on the environment than every texture looking like its being hosed-down.

Don't get me wrong, this didn't look good, since they had the same effect on every single surface in the game, and it looked like it repeated pretty noticeably at places too, but I don't agree that having no effect on the environment á la Skyrim looks better. Can't recall the water effects in Bioshock, but I think it looked decent there, and like Timeshift it used Unreal Engine 2.

My god man, Vinny wtf... picard facepalm.

At the beginning Vinny talks like he's reading a grade school book report.

Vinny's quick look's start with up skirts of orc everyone else quiklooks start with 15 min of chat at the main menu.

Also, I don't know why, but this game reminds me heavily of Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

Well, it is a mediocre Action RPG with two playable protagonists, so there's that.
