...well, that, and this looks OK, but I can understand the flipper sound issue, and the ball definitely seems a little faster and lighter than it should be. Almost reminds me of movement in Smackdown! games, in a weird way: Faster than it should be at points for some odd, janky reason.
 
Terrible way to relate such a thing, I know. Might wait until tables drop in price before picking this up, if they ever do. It's interesting enough to me, just not at the standard prices.

looks like Zen Pinball.

That operator menu makes me want an Arcade Manager sim mode where you need to place games in certain spots, repair machines, and design your motif to keep profits.  Patent pending.
 
The Pinball RTS was made, it is Yoot Saito's Odama.
 
Also the Pinball Hall of Fame is a decent release of old tables.

Does this mean there is also going to be an update for Zen Pinball on the PS3?
It includes some of the same tables like "Excalibur" and "Earth Defense"

Hope these extra tables come to Zen on the PS3.  As is, I love this game.

The water level, but in pinball.

While not a real table, I think it'd be awesome if they could license the table from the videogame 'Pro Pinball: Timeshock' in Pinball FX 2.  That table is easily my favourite pinball table, even including real life ones, because it managed to capture that sense of weird sense of excitement you got when finally activating a giant setpiece feature.

So is Zen Pinball pretty much the same thing? I might need that. :)

God Damn, Brendan Sinclair is a BEAST at this stuff. I mean, I knew he was good but those scores are just freaky.

Needs licensed tables.  Badly. 
 
Also, i hate the constant music track always playing over all the table sounds... real pinball doesn't sound like that!! 
 
Where's the music based on what you are doing? Lost ball music / activation of modes etc?  The street fighter one has lost ball "music" but it's just played over the top of the other music track... really poor sound design.

I'm actually feeling this...! Golfball physics aside, I'm getting a good vibe off this. At least the first table, that looked good. Man, when pinball is good, it's great. And I'm not even a pinball fan or anything. I don't think I've ever played on a real pinball machine... Mostly just Balls of Steel and Metroid Prime: Pinball... But watching this really makes me want to go back to those! Or maybe even buy this! Hmmm, flippers and balls...

It's good to see that Brendan Sinclaire's enthusiasm for pinball has reached even this corner of the internet.

Gotta love Brendan's dedication

What other pinball game lets you catch 'em all?

Not played much on real pinball tables, but I really like Pinball FX and FX2.

This game is great, but doesn't show as well in a quicklook I guess. It's funny how on some of the other sites I frequent everyone thinks the ball physics are dead on, and here everyone mimics Jeff that the physics are horrible..
 
The tables have tons of strategies to pull off, they are really complex. Jeff was just going on autopilot here.

I'm with Jeff. I want to see some real life licensed table action. I think it would add quite a bit to the experience. And they need to fix that bloody ball. It's a bouncy wanker.
