@rvone: Agreed! The gameplay on DOA suffers because of bad image. They play better than tekken and many other fighting games that our beloved friends at GB love.

(The best Killzone thing is KIllzone War Scenes, even if KZ1 played like shit)

Runs like shit on my wired 150Mbps connection. The input lag makes me not want to play anything that's not turn-based. It's improved a bit since beta first launched, but that slight delay is unbearable. If they can get that figured out, and have a flat subscription fee to play whatever I want, I would be all over this.

@mustarddragon: Uh... thats exactly what they are doing. They most likely have a bunch of server racks emulating/running ps3 hardware which is then streamed to your ps4. You really think they could port over this many games from the cell engine that quickly?

The pricing is beta. That's something Sony need to put out there in clear text, maybe pop a dialogue window up that requires the viewer to read it and do a catchpa repeating "The pricing is beta".

I'd of hoped one of them would try it out at they're own homes to see how it was in a more realistic environment but its good to see its functional defiantly will be nice to have around, although not sure my Uk internet will be able to handle it if it ever comes over here.

LOL, so brutally true. Lame they're charging so much for old games that no one is buying anymore anyway, they should be happy with anything they can get for them, not make a 30 or 90 day rental to match full current retail price which again, no one was buying anymore anyway.

I'm not even good at super hard platformers/action games, and I didn't think it was ever unfair. Certainly no worse than Super Meat Boy, Mega Man, Castlevania, or any number of other games they like.

Maybe they were playing with 360 controllers. I used a Dualshock 3.

Also if they are so heavily invested in this Gaikai shit why couldnt they just make the console backwards compatible, would it be so expensive? Even PS3 slim can run PS1 games and by that logic it shuldnt be hard to make PS4 run PS2 games. I call it bullshit.

I am not at all interested in the service, but it is definitely interesting to see how well it works. If they let me license my PS3 three games I own for free, I would be one step closer to getting rid of my PS3. But I do not see that happening.

The ps2 slim is one of the coolest looking consoles out there. Super small with a clean minimalist design. It has an enormous library of games, most of which can be bought online for almost nothing and it is backwards compatible with the ps1. Feels retro, looks modern, fuck this streaming shit and stop being crazy.

Kind of wish they didn't just rush through this. It was sort of just like, here's a game, it's a little laggy, moves on to next game. Why not test a driving game like Dirt 3 where latency can make you end up in a tree? It'd also be a good reference for me personally as I tried Dirt 3 with OnLive and it was horrible and unplayable with terrible streaming quality to boot. I'd like to have also seen Brad go into the multiplayer of KZ3 rather than the campaign to see how an online game would work while you're streaming in.

What if they expand the catalog to PS1 and PS2 games and maybe play with the pricing a little bit and you have decent internet. You have friends over and you start talking about old games you used to play and how fun it would be to check that out. So everyone is drinking and having a good time then you pop on PSNOW and pay a couple bucks to play one of those games everyone was talking about. You didnt have to go to a store and break the mood or order a copy off Ebay with there being a strong possibility by the time it showed up nobody would even care to play anymore. Its a very specific use case but otherwise incredibly convenient and cheaper.

Can't wait for shitty US ISPs to start throttling this service. It's always good to have more companies whose services are directly affected by it and will, therefore, oppose the ISPs.

Ok, hear me out. How many "maybes" and "ifs" did you have to throw in there just to make a reasonable argument? Seems like it would be a lot easier for a machine that can read Blu-Ray discs and process insane amounts of information to run the same video games the company's very own predecessor machines could.

And it's not even like this is an issue with cartridges, either. I will go to the grave cursing every console that doesn't include backwards compatibility but still wants to move everyone on to the "next gen" before they're ready.

The pricing is one thing that everyone is harping on, but I think the quality of it what bothers me.

I want it crystal crisp with absolutely no sort of blurryness and artifacts, but I'll admit that it's because I'm nerdy with my video games. I don't care what movies look like and have no problem with how it looks on Netflix sometimes, compared to blu-ray, so I can totally understand that this would be an okay option for some people.

What I would have been interested in, is if you can play online multiplayer in these games. And if so, if you are paired up solely with other people using Now to play or if it actually has cross platform support.

Yeah, I really don't understand when people talk about Guacamelee being too difficult. It seemed to be pretty much in line with other platformers today. It's too bad that everyone on Giant Bomb kind of overlooked it, because it's a great game.

OKAY, I figured out a use case for 4 hours.

If you HAVE to play Ben 10 Omniverse 2, dying to, but you're going to Japan on a business trip for 2 weeks tomorrow. It might make more sense to get the 4 hours. Then you could get another four hours or seven days after that.
