@bbk: For a $20 digital title, this game is too barebones to get a pass just because we haven't had an RBI Baseball game in a long time. They're just taking advantage of the name to try to get some extra money out of those that have nostalgia for the old games. $10 would've been a pretty good price for a game like this.

Jeff had a "this is sort of neat" vibe going until he remembered that this was a $20 digital game.

Weird lack of music and character animations aside. 20 bucks is a steep price for a game that is real slim pickings content wise.

As someone with no nostalgia for the original this looks ok as a kinda brainless arcade-y baseball game but I don't know if there's better options for that out there. I dunno. I just dunno.

The Bigs is really fun.

I have not even watched this yet, but I do need to reaffirm that The Goonies is not a very good film. Possibly the most overrated of the "80's nostalgia must mean it's good" genre.

The San Francisco Giants and the people who show up at that stadium are all that is wrong with modern baseball.

I'd probably join some drunken heckling if I saw a guy eating sushi in the stands of a baseball game.

Also, I always thought Brad was a good ol' boy real American. But his lack of baseball knowledge is borderline disturbing to me.

The crab people audience is the best. Also, I liked the Goonies. A lot.

Well after trying the RBI demo "The Bigs" (first one) is still my current favorite arcade style baseball. And that was released 7 years ago! sheesh

If anything more people seem to speak out against Jeff anytime he has negative (and always valid) opinions on a game. So, you are completely wrong with your thoughts right there. Jeff is a very outspoken RBI fan so he knows the series well enough to know what it should and shouldn't be. So tired of people making Jeff out to be some jaded guy who doesn't like games at all.

Aw hell. Used to have all night RBI tournaments in college, and that was after the bars.

Well, this looks kind of shoddy. However, I cant stand listening to aging men complain about how "it's just not the same, man!" The reality is that people like Jeff will never be happy with anything remade or rebooted from their childhoods. Just play the original game, because it's the only thing that's going to make you happy. Even a decent replica will only mimic the original experience, and make you want to play the real thing. I really hope I don't get like this one day, but I know it's probably inevitable. =/

Haven't read through the comments so this may have been touched on, but for those unfamiliar with the sport, an RBI is a run batted in. Jeff's explanation was off by a bit, the stat measures how many base runners you "bat" in. So if you hit a single (a hit that advances you to first base) and a runner at third makes it to home plate, you would earn an RBI. If you were to hit a home run with runners on second and third, you would earn three RBIs (one for yourself, one for the runner on second and one for the runner on third). Not trying to be a dick, it's just that it's a pretty basic stat that's an important one to understand for those just getting in to baseball!

P.S. This game looks like garbage. MLB the Show is very good if you're looking to get a baseball game though.

No online mode on this neuters it as a legitimate baseball game. It sucks that the only way to play a good baseball game is to have a PS3.

It's a total joke that there's no online in this game.

The new one isn't as good? It's almost as though nothing can live up to irrational nostalgia.

That game looks pretty cool, also woah was not expecting to see Ryan (didn't notice on the screencap) i was taken by surprise. Sill miss that dude, but yeah game looks pretty fun.
