This is the year of Soviet military installations in games.

Also, Lara's vocal fry is off the charts. I don't really have a problem with it like some people do, but I don't remember it being that prominent in the last game

@thainatos: Lara's animation of wringing her hair when she gets out of the water is good. All the animations are pretty good.

The game seems pretty damn good overall, which makes me bummed about the timed exclusive nature.

I wonder what the narrative justification is for Lara losing all her equipment upgrades and skills from the last game though

Save yourself some time: skip to 35 minutes in. And, no, he doesn't show the upgrade system.

No offense Dan but I think a healthy wolf could probably beat you.

Looks like the shakey camera has been toned down drastically, thank god. I couldn't finish the last TR because the darn camera made me feel drunk and nauseous after playing for any more than 30 mins at a time..

I hate to burst your bubble Dan, but one wolf would wreck you. Wolves are WAY bigger, stronger, faster, and more agile than you think. On top of that they are extremely vicious.

I realize you are kidding when you say things like that, but having grown up in Alaska, I have enormous respect for animals in the wild. It never stops surprising me though, how often wild animals are underestimated, or not treated with the appropriate amount of wariness.

@cannedstingray: No, I think he thinks he's serious. But you're right, the difference between one wolf and two is that you get to experience your painful death a little bit longer when there's only one. Damn, now I want to go watch The Grey again.

Really loved the first one, can't wait for this on the PC/PS4 so I can play it!

Uh, maybe Brad should try to plan for Quick Looks better. Like, jot an outline or something, earmark some save files?

Guys, Dan isn't serious, come on. And just in case he is, just think about how long it takes for a haymaker to travel, and how quick a wild animals reactions are. If you could train a wolf to spar and only avoid punches, I don't think Mayweather would be able to land a hit.

Now there's a question... would Floyd Mayweather be able to land a hit on a wild wolf trained to spar but not fight back?

EDIT: okay, this game looks really damn fun actually. It wasn't even on my radar before this quick look.

I don't like how Laura is littering the environment with her glow sticks.

@ghost_cat: Lara's there to raid the tombs, not preserve them. I found it a bit funny that in the QL Lara comments on how water is eroding a tomb and will eventually destroy it, and then proceeds to completely flood it because fuck it.

Canine windpipes are embedded inside the throat, they cannot be choked the same way people can be

Seems like pretty much the same game as the reboot, but now with even more collectables... So, no thanks.
But it does have good animations and graphics!

There is no way Dan could take on even a single wolf, especially with just his fists and "wits"

It's hard to tell just how good a game looks with the video quality of GB Quick Looks.
It's become more of a problem since 1080p, 60 fps console titles have become more of a thing.
But I think they've said they're looking into improving it, I just hope it doesn't take too long.

Dan jokingly being convinced he can win a fight against different animals is my new favourite thing.

I can't wait for the Definitive Edition on the PS4, which will likely run at 60FPS like the first one did. In the meantime I can't wait and will play it on my X1.

Also I think @danryckert is underestimating how savage and massive a real life wolf is.

Is humming when you don't have anything else to say like a staff initiative or something?

i really love the snow dusting effect on her hair/clothes.

I hope the PC version turns out to be high quality. Looks like one of the better games of the year.

I'm not convinced he's really joking. Knowing how oblivious he is of how things work in real world I suspect he really thinks he can win a fight with a wolf. I'm also getting more and more tired of listening to his inane ramblings.

I love how Brad says that he couldn't skip that specific cutscene even though the screen literally shows a button prompt to skip said cut scene.

I really want to check this out, but I should really finish the first one first...

The previous Tomb Raider was one of my favorite games from last generation. This looks like that but more gameplay. I'll definitely pick this up when it's out on PC next year.

If you really think he's being serious then I think you're the oblivious one.
