That guy from blackrock studios sounds so fucking unenthusiastic to be talking about this game. Doesn't do it justice...

BlackRock definitely "gets" the idea of speed and fun concept...Bizarre could take a few cues

I have a problem driving in a normal racing game. With all the explosions in this one it will be nearly impossible. I think I'll stick to shooters thank you very much.

It is a credit to this game that a man so weighed down with ennui, so infused with boredom, cannot take away from how good it looks.

That looks really cool, what I want now is Criterion to implement these concepts into their next open world Burnout game, and you've got the best arcade driving game ever made!

I can see why people are making Blur connections, but I think that both games have their own distinctions that make them fun in different ways.  Blur is more of a "realistic" cart racer, but Split/Second is more of a mix between an over the top action movie and a Burnout racing game.  At least, that's what I've been able to decipher from my first impressions of both.

Been doing some focus testing and although i'm probably still in NDA I will say this game is awesome and there is ALOT more to be seen and that you guys will thoroughly enjoy!

I'm kinda liking Blur more, but this looks pretty interesting too.

I'm still not convinced.
 
It looks pretty and all but I think that the "power plays" will get boring fast seeing that it's always the same stuff that crashes. And this is not the first racing game that throws some obstacles onto the track, it's just more spectacular.

I hope there is a track with a dam in it. Also this guy looks like a creep.

I like the solution they did with the hud. Gives the same information like if it was in the corner of the screens, but does not distract you and let you focus on the car and what comes ahead, also gives a really nice feel to the speed.

Tell me about it! I think a lot of the American PR guys go too far the other way and come across really false, but blokes like this are a worse representation of the UK than Mary Poppins... "

The drifting sound was really getting on my nerves, and the speed isn't as good as Burnout. So in effect I don't care.

I would agree about all of that, but this guy i liked? dont know why, it had something to do with the sound of "not caring" in his voice, but still actually caring? kinda like a lot of us do over here, not me specifically...well maybe i do that sometimes if i can't be bothered. "

I'm still not sold on this game. To be quite honest, watching this just makes me want another Burnout.

soooo by "best we could come up with" with regards to back story they mean "borrowed from Death Race"...

This looks cool.

Man, the rubberband AI looks a bit too powerful in areas. That's a bit bothersome to me. Let the power plays set up the passing that can't be done through driving!
 
The game definitely looks awesome, though, so hopefully that won't be an issue by release.

I dig it.

Looks like it would be pretty boring if you're in the lead since you can't use any of your power plays unless you want to change the route.

This looks cool, but there something about Blur that has me more excited about it than Splitsecond. It's probably the 20 player online.

I love how the HUD is on the back bumper of the car.  I'd love to see that on more racing games.  
 
This really looks interesting to me.  I am excited to get my hands on a demo eventually and if it plays as well as it previews, I think I have my Burnout: Paradise replacement. 

Some clipping issues asside, this game looks really good. Kinda what I wanted from a current gen Burnout.
