I don't think Brad was being defensive about the game... He's bad at playing it and seeing prompts that are right in the middle of the screen... but the game itself doesn't look as horrible as others have made it out to be.

game is mediocre = blame brad's playing. the cosmic ballet goes on.

I think sometimes you guys over complicate the asset creation and game design process. I myself build 3D models and characters, once you have the base mesh done it's really easy to change clothing styles and character looks. Also making something a high or low poly model is as easy as one click on the subsurface modifiers. Perhaps with game creation, there are limitations when working with an engine, but asset creation isn't as hefty a task as you seem to think.

Among the missed opportunities is something I've yet to see in a game:

Enemies hitting other enemies. I noticed a few places where an errant swing from an enemy 'contacted' another enemy. It would be really nice (and a bit more immersive) if things like this had an impact in combat.

Playing this now alongside another site's video game of the month feature and it's not a particularly deep game, but it's fun enough and has some nice visuals. Very much a middle of the road, summer popcorn movie type of game.
